Default Roller rocker adjustment?

I'm just putting the finishing touches to my 331 stroker build, I have installed my correct length hardened pushrods, and need to know how to adjust my rockers.
They are scorpion 1.6 roller rockers. do they need a gap between tip and valve stem or do I tighten them, then nip them another 1/4th turn?
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks

Simon

typically it should be about 1/2-3/4 turn beyond zero lash. If you have stud mounted rockers, lock 'em down and you're set.

If you have pedestal mount, they should torque up within 1/2-1 turns beyond zero lash. If they don't torque up, you need longer pushrods. If they torque up too soon, you'll need to shim under the pedestal.

EDIT - I should have mentioned that the adjusting should be done while that particular lifter is on the base circle of the cam (i.e. when the cylinder is at TDC on compression)

Wade is correct, I use a bump switch to turn the engine to the desired timing location as I adjust.

I use a finger spin on the rod to tell me the rocker is at zero lash.

I do not add anything to the setting. I just leave it at the top and lock it down.

Note: if you do not prelube your engine before you do this, you can be adjusting all day. Get a good pressure reading before you set your hydraulics. This keeps the cups from giving as you adjust.

Just my $0.02
