Ok Ron I really didn't mean to sitr all this up, just looking for some help. I hope it is OK the I left my Cheers and Rock On pics.
Cracker I am in the 20+ range lower end. I am leaning twoards getting a shell valley car from Team C Racing in CT. for $15999 the car comes with everything except motor, trans, battery, and driveshaft. The only thing is that I would really like IRS. I also am considering a Factory Five. It can be done with the IRS froma TBird, but I am not sure how I feel about using used parts.
I have started gong through the list I have lots more to go on now.
Chaplin its easy put [IMG]THEN TYPE THE URL OF THE PIC THEN PUT [IMG/]

Correct... this IMG pics must be "up" somewhere... could even be your Gallery on this site... but have to have a URL.
Posts only allow ONE file to be attached....
(I'll send you an e-mail one this)

If I don't bust your balls now and then it means I don't like you.

I have a question as well about this posting stuff. I understand that the picture/whatever your trying to post has to be up/http'ed somewhere but does that mean it isn't suspect to size requirements within reason? Anytime I try to attach a file it starts out so large I'm not even close to resizing down to the limit. Soooo when I see this really nice picture on a post can I assume they are linking rather than uploading it as a file? Thanks!

Attachments have a 40k file size limitation and one-per-post.
Imbedded images, using the IMG tag, are unlimited, but are best displayed when they are 640x480 or 800x600.
If you have an image too large to attach, upload it to your galley, then use the IMG tag to insert it into a post.
View the picture in full size in the Gallery. Point to the desired full-sized picture and right-click, then select Properties. Note in the middle of the Properties Window there is Address (URL). Highlight the entire address, right-click on the highlight and select Copy.
Then, when you start a post that you would like to include that photo..at the point you want the photo to appear, depress the IMG button in the control panel area above the big gray Reply Box... a pop-up will appear with " http://" in blue. Just point to that phrase, right-click and select paste. That will insert the URL of your image. Say OK and the photo is now imbedded in your post.
Ideal Gallery sizes are 60k to 120k.

Welcome
Bold entry Joebio! Jump in, get Roscoe wound up, ballsy I think you will fit in just fine. Now we just need to hook you up with Evan
I to started out in your price range and then found out that by the time I got the car the way I wanted it I was way over 40. Check out the used market.
Another Unique plug...... If you are concerned with the used part bit and want the IRS.......... look at Unique. Rock bottom dollar to finish one with all new parts and a 'buy the beer paint job is going to be in the 37+ neighborhood. I have seen many finished cars from Unique that exceed 50. Getting a car done in the mid 20s will virtually guarentee donor parts and a solid rear axle. I am sure that there are exceptions but I would expect them to be few and far in between.
I don't know about your car skills but while these cars may be refered to as 'kits' they are nothing like 'nut A on bolt B'. To get a nicely finished good running car takes a lot more than being able to follow instructions. Please keep that in mind when you select a manufacturer.
Have fun (and watch your back )
Rick

But as seen in this case it does have a drawback! If the image "link" changes the picture it changes your post also! OR if the linked site is down, your image won't display.
Hey JoeBio, Welcome to the Club. Looks like you went through a rather brutal initiation and survived. I don't know what got into me, the devil made me do it I tell you.

Joeblo:
You see we get many new posters here that turn out to be phoney (see MrMustangs post on this thread) When a new poster comes on with limited info, especially no location, and asks vague questions we are all skeptical and treat them more harshly than someone who is more up front.
If you hang around this forum long enough you will know what I mean. And, please, learn how to use google!
Roscoe

Google rules.
Same on new posters. Home Land Security has raised the Forum hijacking alert level to 'elevated'. Being the good Americans we are when forum hijacking is suspected we will terminate with extreme prejudice!

But Roscoe, when it comes to Cobra information WE are superior to Google. Joe's question was not out of line in that respect, newbie or not.

Ernie,
I don't know if I agree with that. Here's a kid who claims to have done 3 months of research and has come up with only 15 companies. Now if this were prior to the Internet I could agree (but then we would not be having this conversation)
But I went to google and found every manufacturer in the world with details. This is what struck me odd about his post. Just didn't seem right to me. Sooooo, I busted his balls but then gave him the url for the site.
I could be wrong but I think someone is pissing on my leg and telling me it's raining.

Ernie, you get where I was coming from.
I filled in some of my info so that now you know where I am, I hope that puts you more at ease that I am legit.
Roscoe, will say this, it is JoeBio, not Joeblo, I am assuming you are still busting my balls, now I am sure that you would not want to be known as Rosblo!
I do Know how to use Google, in fact I used it to find this photo of you and your dog Flash, however you don't appear to be in your Cobra, was there a cobra on the Dukes of Hazzard?
Roscoe, was this you?

Joeblo
Actually this is a pic of me and my dog Macie, although taken a few years ago. He loves to retrieve...in fact, he'll retrieve a piano if I could figure out how to throw it.
And hey! At least you can thank me for giving you that kitcars.com site.
