Lone star GT40
Looks like they beat Meat to the punch. I can't get into their website, but a thread on the F5 forum says they are $13,995. anybody got some straight info?

ahh, well...shades of the Avenger.
The LS40 uses as a standard drivetrain donor...the VW 1600cc.
The upgrade is a Mazda RX7 engine.

My read on their GT40 is for a low cost kit tailered for the ricer/tuner generation. I don't think CC members and cobra owners are the target audience. I think the motor is out of a Ford Focus ZX3. Different paradigm, we'll see...

I wonder if they have considered using a FWD drivetrain like in a Taurus SHO or a Caddy northstar.
Maybe you could start with a bsic body and adapt a nice ford/chevy V8 to a Porsche/audi transaxle. ???
