Question supercharger-460

I am curious, anyone know of a supercharged 460? I like the twin screw style, but cannot find much of anything under search cc. This is my first post on this forum, used to hang out and post on others. I am in the middle of a divorce, and this research project is keeping me sane(I think). When the legal stuff is done, I plan to own a 460 car, most likely single 4 barrel no blower, but I am curious.... Thanks,Bill.

Default blown 460

You might try Cobrashock..he has a drilled out 460 that has a supercharger..there are a couple of other on this forum that have blown 460's.....Really depends on the car you will put it into...460 is a BIG motor by itself....adding a supercharger on the front can be very tight...will likely require custom fabrication of some components.

I just finished a major motor improvement this year...looked into a supercharger and even with my stretched cobra, still would have been very tight..

A local builder here in Sacramento built a blown 460 Arntz/Butler Cobra several years back. Basically started from scratch and it was featured in an 80s issue of one of the car magazines. Budget was $120K. Basically a hand made work of art if you like custom cars. It was juggled around to a few owners making changes. The blower sort of took away from the sidepipe crackle sound a bit. It was a neat car and all, but I'd rather see a modern, normally aspirated 512+ in one instead. It would seem to me that if one could not get enough grunt and tire spin out of a blueprinted 512, then something else is wrong.

Thumbs up

How about this one:

http://www.pbase.com/mjb2/chappys_cobra&page=3

(more pics of the engine on page 4)

460 block bored 0.125 over running a Vortech YS trim S/C through a carb. Completely custom job as you can see. But Chappy's attention to detail is stunning. It was making around 650 hp with 7 pounds of boost and needed more fuel pump last time I spoke with him . I think he built it intending to run 12 psi . Now what you can do with all that torque I haven't a clue .

Thanks folks, that was more of a curios question than serious. I have about got the parts list figured out, now all I need to do is get divorced the rest of the way, and get on with it, I am shooting for spring 2005 at the latest

Been there, done that. Using a V-4 J-trim Vortec. It's a on going project thats ALLWAYS under change and everything is custom. Right now I am switching it over to a Coan Dedenbear glide with a 10 in. converter, and my engine guru is refreshing the bottom end of the engine. Together with a new innercooler/aftercooler I hope to have things together in a few weeks.
Bring money, lots of money. It's not as simple as putting a parts list together.
