Is there any truth to the rumor that there is a clone in New Jersey of Carroll Shelby? Or, is that a replica?

#1 - Just over 1000. But if the offer is right he will come up with another
#2 - All over the world. Some in hiding, some in barns waiting to be discovered, some being pampered, some......
#3 - Down at the court house filing another suit against him
#4 - I can not confirm this. There are many rumors and much speculation. I have heard ten but there seems to be a tie to who ever will promote his name the most

Three kids, all by his first wife, Jeanne. Sharon Anne, Michael Hall and Patrick Burke. Pat lives here in Dallas. Michael lives in Ca now, I think. Sharon Anne still lives here in Dallas(?). They are not involved in the car thing, as each decided not to be overshadowed by Carroll. If you talk with Pat or Mike in a small setting, you get a sense of resentment that the cars came first and they (and their mom) came a distant 2nd while Shelby chased rainbows all over the world. It was a peace offering of sorts back in the 80's when Shelby got together with Beverly Hills Mustang and 'continued' the line of '66 GT350 convertibles. He kept one (blue w/ white stripes, a frequent camera prop for CS) and gave one to each of his kids. Pat relates that they NEVER got a chance at a ride back in the day as dad told each of them that if they wanted a car, they had to buy one like everybody else...retail! I do not know what happened to Jeanne. I know of only 3 Shelby wives. Jeanne, Lena (killed in a 1 car wreck in East Tx in 1997) and the current Mrs. Shelby, Cleo. Other than this, all I can relate is that Sharon is a great person, very friendly and affable and a very nice woman when I met her at a SAAC convention and gave her a ride in my GT350 at open track.

Carroll Shelby's first wife, Jeanne
Being heavily involved with both SOA and SAAC, I have had the opportunity over the years to meet all three of Carroll Shelby's wives. Jeanne came with Shelby to the last SOA national Convention in Wichita, KS, in August of 1975. She was a very gracious lady, and spent time with a fledgling group of "Shelby Club wives (and girlfriends)" at the Convention. Here is a picture of her with my wife Diane at the SOA III Convention:
Lena was a beautiful woman with a lot of energy. She accompanied Shelby on the SAAC "Mexican Riviera" cruise in 1994, and had a great time. Shelby was trying to take care of his new heart, and would retire fairly early each night, while Lena would dance the night away, having a ball.
Cleo is a beautiful woman, too, and very friendly. She seems to enjoy the car events a little more than Jeanne or Lena. It's nice to see a woman get involved with her husband's passions, whatever they may be. I am sure you guys with "understanding wives" can appreciate that.
regards,
Jeff

Mike Shelby lives in Dallas
Mike Shelby lives in Dallas, he is in the oil & gas business, and own a bank in Plano, Texas - Legacy Bank. I heard this from Carroll himself this past weekend.
Mike has visited and spoke at our SCAT club meetings, and was the keynote speaker at our last Shelby Texas Nationals last month. (Pictures to appear soon on www.scatracks.org ) In 2002 he drove his '66 GT-350 "continuation" convertible to our club meeting.
Mike spoke very fondly of his childhood with Carroll Shelby, having the "job" at a teenager of running a handheld stop watch at Le Mans!! Mike also told me personally of absolutely wild and hilarious stories of the days of the Terlingua chili parties.
After the banquet at STN '03 on Friday night, Mike was supposed to fly out on Sunday for a business trip, but he changed plans at the last minute and showed up at our car show on Sunday and visited for quite a time. He is very genuine, personable, friendly, informative, and very interested in the cars. As to whether he would eventually take over Shelby auto-related enterprises, I doubt it.
The following picture is of Mike Shelby in the center looking at the camera, famed automotive artist and Shelby childhood friend Bill Neale on the left, and SCAT members on the right. Mike's GT-350 convertible in the background:

Hi, in my copy of Road & Track March 1964,there is a review of the Nassau Speed week 1963. In that it says Carroll Shelby got married. He flew to London on monday after the opening race, got married to 19 year old Sue on tuesday, and both returned to Nassau on wednesday.
