I will have over 80,000 miles on my Cobra by the first of the year, in less than 8 years of ownership. For ME, much of the enjoyment of Cobra ownership is seeing how the general public reacts with/to the Cobra.

I would love to but the photographer has it hidden in his camera still......:)

I drove past an underground utility crew while they were in their 4-5 foot deep trench. The above-ground crew mwmber saw me coming, and told his co-workers in the trench. As I drove past, There were four thumbs-up and four shovels waving in the air!

I am checking out the Cobra the other day with the shed door open and a groupe of young people are walking past when I hear a young female voice say "Ohh a movie car" made me smile.
Cheers,
Bryan

Hi All, I thought I would share a couple of things, here NZ we get good and bad attention when the FIA goes out, one of my daughters does not like coming out with in due to the attention.
A few weekends ago I was driving along a two lane road whenI was coming up behind a family load in a car on my passengers side, I could see the Dad tell the kids to look and wind down the windows, the boys in the back had thumbs up and big smiles, then we stoped at a set of lights and the boys said said great car, then the mum said that her husband has always wanted one, so I said that they all should let him get one. This is one of many stop and talks.

New neighbor moved in across the street and yesterday was the first day that he saw me pull out the Cobra. On my return I had to park it on the driveway. His wife's car was in the process of being towed to the dealer for a no-start condition. As I shut it down he walked up to me and said, "What a piece of junk." (with a big smile, of course). I just replied, "Yeah, what a bucket of bolts this car is...pain in the ass to keep it this crappy looking, too.: :D

While at my doctors for a checkup today, I noticed a Car & Driver magazine with his home address on it. I asked him if he was a car guy and he said yes. I told him I had a 427 Cobra, replica of course and he replied "Does it matter?"
Hell no, I told him! We then discusse d the particulars.
Larry:LOL:

One thing about these cars they draw attention where ever you go or stop.A friend called the other day and asked if I would consider selling. The only time I ever consider selling is in the dead of winter.Following that, take a walk out to the storage barn, pull the cover off and realize what is parked there. That bad thought melts away.

Sharroll Celby 11-28-2009 04:41 PM

Lots of "Thumbs Up" on my drive today...nothing out of the ordinary.

Hurricane 1038 in Dallas Morning News

Aside from the usual rock star looks and thumbs up, even from law enforcement, Hurricane 1038 was pictured in last month's write up of Cars and Coffee Dallas. Follow the reprint here.

Pictured cobras in the article's third photo, left to right, are jshel1's Hurricane, Wiley's Backdraft, LReyburn's FFR Daytona, and SSSammy's ERA.

Gassing up at Valero station today guy walks up and says what's it got in it?
I told him and he says "I've got a real car. It's a Corvette." I wanted to say something snide in return but was so dumbfounded I couldn't think of anything to say. (I did later) but bfd. I noticed he humg around long enough to hear me leave. I'll try to be better prepared next time.:p

Nope It's Fake 11-30-2009 12:19 PM

"I've got a real car. It's a Corvette."

I'd have asked him if he had the necklace and the jacket to prove it.

"Yeah, I have one of those too. So, you want to run your real car vs. my fake one for pinks, beeotch?!?" :3DSMILE:
