Driving home tonight and a guy pulls up next to me at a light and yells out the window, "Nice Cobra. In fact, in all my years living in DC that is the nicest car I have ever seen. And that includes all those Italian trash cars that you see around here too."

I was parked on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills this weekend, immediately in front of a Bugatti Veyron, and there were WAY more people interested in the Bugatti than the Cobra. Heck, I have only seen four Veyrons in the last six months, so I cant (or shouldn't) default those people who took notice of the Veyron.
I did let some cute women sit in the Cobra and took their pics...!!! lol !!!

We happened to have a very rare warm weekend for this time of year. I took the cobra out for a ride to Misquamicut Beach R.I. As its off season, there weren't many people around. As I came to the corner of Atlantic ave., a Local bar was open with the parking lot loaded with motorcycles. Guys came pouring out of the corner doors beers in raised hands hooting and hollering. With no pedestrians around, I provided them with a nice 1st-2nd show. Nice early start to a summer of fun.

RET_COP - You brought back some memories for me of the good old days in
the 60's when Misquamicut along with Narragansett were my old bar running
days with many good times there. Too bad I didn't have a Cobra then but I
never would have survived it! LOL

Flip, I did the same thing in the 70s. I went from Misquamicut Beach to Scarborough Beach having fun and looking for girls. It was a right of passage for us local guys. We have a cruise night at the Windjammer on Thursday evenings in the Summer. Cruises also at Ocean Beach New London CT. Monday evenings, Oakland Beach Warwick R.I. Tuesday evenings, Foxwoods Casino on Wednesday evenings, just to name a few.

Was at a breakfast place Saturday morning, absolutely FULL of people. I rumbled up to a parking spot right in front, shut the engine down, and walked inside. As I waited to order my breakfast, a woman about 30 with two little kids said that she knew NOTHING about cars, but that she thought my Cobra was, (quote) "Absolutely Beautiful"!
I smiled and thanked her for noticing my Cobra.

I guess this is recognition ... last week was the Masters in Augusta . I live across the river in SC and decided to take the car out one evening for a ride .... weather was perfect ! Carole and I pulled onto the street and got a major thumbs up from two runners and a fist shaken at me by a golfer as I went by the course ( not on it hard ) . I guess the "best " was a couple walking and watching the man cover both ears with his hands while I was a block away as I came up on them .
Also , one of the local city police saw me come around a curve , looked at me and motioned to hold it down .... could have pulled me over as I was just a wee bit over the speed limit .
All total , a good ride !

My First Day in My New Car
Today was the first day having my Kirkham on the road - and what an amazing day it was. Started while at the DMV while sitting there I counted 14 different people snap pictures of my car. My son and I went cruising tonight for about an hour and heard various versions of nice car everywhere went - had pictures taken while at stop lights - it was absolutely a blast; to be frank, I think my 10 year old son enjoyed all of the attention more than I did.
Could not be happier!

Show
The shooting of a TV spot for the local news. About 6 hours of static shots and some driving shots for about 2 minutes of air time. All on the "Brotherhood of Snakes" owned by myself, my brother, and my brother-in-law.

Were you the one cruising Gateway over the weekend?
I'm in SLC too, there are a few of us around if you want to get together for the "once in a while" Utah Kirkham Owners" lunch....

A guy pulled up to me at a light this weekend and after asking me a bunch of the standard questions (what year, how much HP, etc), he said, "Shouldn't you be wearing one of those leather helmets and goggles like the aviators do?" I responded, "Uh, its going to be 80 degrees today....."

I am a kitchen designer, 62 years old, salt and pepper hair, long over do for a hair cut, with a biker moustache. At my desk in the show room, I have a picture of my Cobra as the background on my computer, a coffee mug with the Cobra logo, a Cobra mouse pad, a red Cobra Hotwheels car, and a roller rocker as a paper weight. A guy in his mid 40's walks in, stairs at my coffee mug and says serious as hell, "G.I Joe?" I look at the guy and say "Now really, do I look like someone who would sit home and play with G.I Joe dolls?" What I really wanted to say was " How did some one as stupid as you live so long?", but my boss was an ear shot away.
Or a guy will walk by my desk, look at my computer and say "Your dream car?" I like to see the look on their face when I say "no, it's at home in my garage"
