Agree. I like it, especially at the target price.

What kind of trans does it use? I like it!

Porsche 911 transmission.
I have liked the design since they first released pictures a long time ago. I knowticed no interior shots. I will be anxious to see some.

I'm with Rick on this one.
Would really like to see an interior that matches the rest of the car - not something that belongs in a dune buggy. Non-fixed (read as moveable) windows also would be a big plus.
Can do without the wing but to each his own.
It looks great in paint, nice chassis and powertrain choice.

Jeff,
I'll get some good pics of the interior etc. this weekend. If I can get up close and personal.

Would like to see some better quality photos of the body. Can't tell if it looks quality?

One would have to assume the Porsche 911 trans is strong enough to handle a Chev V-8.
,,,,,,I wonder!

Only certain Porsche transaxles would be strong enough. Ask Gasketboy -- he has direct experience. ($$$'s -- right Jeff?!)

Very nice design & engineering effort from the folks at FFR, I think. The only thing I would like to see is the bubble at the top of the hood extending down the hood to about the middle of the headlights. Large flat fiberglass areas never finish well, IMHO. And are those fake vents? Hmmm. Would definately like to get a ride in one though!

Mike - snap away with that trusty camera. I have been lusting over this since they had the grey pics on their site.
Ben, the G50 is a good strong trans and should support the late model Vette engine. Mine had the 915 5 speed transaxle of '78 vintage. It was $1,800 to rebuild.
I'm going to wait and see on this one. Sounds like we have plenty of time.

Looks like a VBM 4000 GTC. Hope they worked out the chassis dynamics.Frame looks flimsy where the front cage ties into the cowl bars, No side protection either. Real tough to design a mid engine chassis that works. Why not just buy a used Z-06($35-40K, put $10K in upgrades and run rings around this "kit car").Or buy a proven product, like the Ultima, or one of the GT40 cars currently on the market. How do you title the thing?Good luck, but they will sell a million of them to their legions of fans.

I have thought this car was really going to be something since I first saw it on their site awhile back. I have to say, it looks very impressive! My only concern will be the cost once you've gotten the necessary running gear. 97 and up late model vette parts aren't going to be cheap and a good transaxle from Porsche won't be either. And the cost of the kit is substantially higher than say building a Cobra. I do believe if one wants to spend the money, this car has the potential especially with it's lightness to blow any new production car off the road! As for spending $10K on a Z06, you will not have the performance as you will with this car even if it just utilizes stock components from a late model vette. Target weight of <2200lbs, holy poop! It's got the Z06 by what, 800lbs or so?
I would be concerned, with spending the kind of money it will take to put this car on the road, of the fit and finish. It will have to be show quality! IF, they want to sell many.
Oh yeah, you will title it just as you would any other kit car. Special Construction, or use a titling company and go the sleazy route.

Fugly!
Not too keen on the body-style, but it uses the right suspension. With a little welding and fabricating I'm pretty sure a gt40 body will fit. The 40 chassis is only 3 inches shorter for wheelbase. As for trannies, the g50 is plenty strong for that motor, and if you need more the 930 trans will hold up to 600hp/600ft lbs.
Definately not a cheap project, but it should perform well if the aero is good on the body, S
(Not sure WHERE they are going to put the fuel tank/s, doesn't look like there's any room left....)

Those chassis pics don't show the aluminum panels installed, nor any steel reinforcement there may be in the doors so I wouldn't make any rush to judge the technical merits/crash worthyness yet.
I've never been real drawn to 'Supercars' of any sort and I feel claustrophobic in really tight cockpits (insert joke here) so it's not my cup of tea. But I do like the looks of it minus the 'ricer' wing. I look forward to seeing it in Vegas on Saturday.
Real surprising that Mr. Bruce doesn't like it.

MKIII update too...
In that same link also noticed a link down below for the development and progress on the new FFR MKIII Roadster. Being set up to handle the newer Mustang suspensions, 4.6 engine, etc. Seems these guys are trying all sorts of new and exciting configurations. Fun to watch.
