Default Chrome Plating?

I have a fuel log that I ordered and it normally comes in a gold finish...I asked for a silver finish but I'm not pleased with the look. You can still see hints of gold in spots. I'm considering having it chrome plated. Any recommendations on where to have it done?

I noticed that Branda Performance sells silver Fuel Logs for 60 bucks...probably cheaper than having mine chrome plated.

The plating finish you are after is cadmium plating. Quite toxic to do and therefore the sources are somewhat limited. Contact plating (chrome) shops in you area and ask if they do it. If not they can surely refer you to someone that does. It was/is used alot in older automotive & aircraft applications to fight corrosion. The process has been replaced with more modern methods designs and materials.

You can simulate the silver cadmium finish with aluminum spray paint. Although the durability is not the same the color will be pretty close.
