Bottom loader? That's pretty good. Looks like they are using a Tremac in that pic, doesn't it?

Cal,
Yeah, If I had to guess... being thats a Chevy powerplant in there maybe thats the Tremec T56 6-Speed used on the Vettes/Vipers?.... I can't see an adaper plate. Not sure if its 5 or 6speed.
There have been some Aussie cars popping up with the newer Vette powerplants...maybe they will pipe in with some of their cars too.
Buzz,
It would be neat to see one of those Robnells in person. I actually like that interior quite a bit. Nice to see different stuff out there. What type of chassis, suspension piecies, and drivetrain does the Robnell typically have under it?

And here is a Crendon...Wilf's to be precise. This particular car is one of the top three Cobra replicas I have come across. Assolutely perfectly turned out, and the 16s allow for some decent rubber...needed for the high speed work on the British main roads. The rear pipes allow for a wonderful rumble while cruising, and allow for one of the nicest features on a Cobra S/C body to be seen...the bottom rocker coming back to the rear fender. We miss that view with our side pipes. Crendon makes one of the nicest bodies on the planet.
BTW...Ford powered. Wilf carries the Blue Oval banner against the tide with his mates.

Well said, Jamo. Crendon, from what I've read, set out from day one against the tide of most UK replicas to be the most authentic and they've come up with a great product.
Duane, Robnell uses a lightweight triangulated tubular spaceframe that reportedly weighs less than 300lbs bare. A kevlar/carbon fiber body includes positive (impact on frame as opposed to door locks) side intrusion protection and the frame has engineered crumple zones. Features include selectable traction control, anti-lock brakes and Motec fuel injection. There is even a memory card that allows you to download data after a run or track session to analyze the car's performance. Very un-Cobralike to the purist - but the Cobra driving experience (high power, short wheelbase, beautiful body shape) remains untainted while the owner/driver can still benefit from current technology and safety enhancements. Rear suspension is all independent and available in a variety of configurations to suit your tastes and pocketbook. I wish that Samuari (sp?) would chime in as he is the first and - as far as I know- only person to have bought a Robnell through HOC.

Buzz,
Sorry for not posting earlier, but I just saw this thread. By the way, that first Robnell picture you posted is my car...
I though I had all the pictures of my car, but from time to time, someone posts a new one I've never seen. Thanks
My interior is slightly different from the traditional Robnell. It's a slightly modified SC interior. I have all the gauges and the steering wheel cutout is larger to support the turn signals and it's covered in leather. And I had them also put in a glove box.
Here's a link to the picture in the gallery, not the best qualify...
Robnell Interior View
I have to say, I've been most satisfied with my Robnell. The fit and finish is quite unbelievable and every component is of top quality. As Buzz has stated, the body is primarily kevlar with fiberglass. I also have anti-lock brakes with a override in the cockpit for those track days. I believe all suspension components are manufactured by Robnell specifically for their car. Even the differential is manufactured by Robnell. The differential internals are all Ford 9". The brakes are 13" slotted rotors all round with AP calipers. Theirs a manual inline booster for the brakes. Vacume is not required. The wheels are true knock-offs. There are no adapters. There are front/rear anti-sway bars. All shocks are Koni adjustables (12 positions for compression/9 positions for rebound). All suspension bolts up front are wired so they can't back out. The front wheel wells can be removed with 6 bolts to facilitate working on the suspension. And it has a heater. Air conditioning is optional...really... The seats I have also have headrests built in. The seats are on rails so they can be adjusted and they come with 4-point Williams harnesses. I better stop here, because I'm rambling...

Thanks for replying, Samurai. That is one great car you own. I saw in a recent thread that you took it out on the track. It's nice to hear that the car lives up to the hype about its quality construction and engineering - a bonafide supercar among Cobra replicas.

Hey Wilf,
all you english folk need to get together and pass a petition around to get rid of those humongus license plates you have.
Man! is that thing an eye sore on a beautiful car like the Cobra.
Wilf, your Cobra is OUTSTANDING !!!!
Now as far as noteworthy Cobras go...I saw the BDR's at the run and gun. and I will say they perform as well as they look. That Cobra really impressed me and I own a Midstates. For the money, you would be hard pressed to beat their product.
I guess if you wanna strut your stuff then R&G is the only game in town and the BDR's did plenty of strutin'
Good luck to all the BDR guys and it's nice to see a quality product at an unbelievable price. I'm sorry if the truth hurts but
that's how I see it.
Hersh

I agree Hersh. From what I've seen and read the BDR sure looks like a quality product at a "nice" price!

Thanks for the complement, I'm very happy how it turned out...
This is a great thread, I've learned about a few new cobra I've never knew existed. There are so many great cobra out there these day and more arriving all the time.
Hersh:
I have to agree. BDR have an incredible product at a incredible price and they are doing well building a great reputation.

I just brought my Premier Motor Sports 427 Cobra replica home at the beginning of November. They do a very good job. They are working on a 289 FIA car that is packaged with a supercharged 4.6 dohc engine. The aluminum body prototype is they have is a very hot setup. They are quite interested in pushing out the envelope. I would not ignore them when looking for a Cobra. I'd be happy to e:mail pictures of my car if you are interested. I'd attach a picture if I knew how!

Fake Snake,
if you are willing, you can "upload" the pictures to your Gallery, I can assist you with attachhing them to this thread... Go to Gallery, Login, Upload Pictures and select picture files on your local PC for upload. Its about the same difficulty as adding an attachment to an email... Try it and see.
Once you have them in your Gallery, you can add them to your reply by selecting "properties" on the specific picture in your gallery and note the link location, use "copy" to copy the url/link location. Then using the IMG button in your post you can paste the url location into your post. Just a cut/paste of the url with the IMG function once you get the pictures into your gallery.
If not, send me an email with the pictures and I'll post it for you. We'd like to see it an include your car in this thread... Duane email: decooney@comcast.net

Jamo - my ears were burning. Thanks for the eulogy! Of course, you forgot to mention that the Crendon is the only UK-sourced replica to use the twin-tube chassis a la real thing.
Hersh - more restrained old-style black and silver number plates fitted these days, but UK law says we have to have them, so what can a guy do?
Most numerous current replicas here in the UK are Dax, AK, Pilgrim. The first two are mid-market contenders, the last one usually an entry-level car. And no worse for that.
An oldie but a goodie was the BRA, now sadly out of production. Both 289 and 427 versions were made.
Also out of production are the Southern Roadcraft and RAM.Both fine cars in their day.
One car not yet mentioned here is the Metaline. Built to order, very rare, very expensive. Look fine, bodyshell splashed from an original ally body, although they have a rather squared-off scoop on the hood since no original hood was available to copy. Semi-ladder, semi-spaceframe chassis. Always highly finished. Almost as nice as a Crendon.
Yup, lots of nice Cobra replicas here in the UK.
Wilf
Edit - oops, forgot to mention the GD since it had already been noted before, becoming as numerous now as Dax and AK. Fine handling, Chevy-engine bias, removable body, but to my eye, a somewhat arcane shape. JMHO of course.

There have been some questions asked regrading pics of our body shape, components, frame, etc. Please click on the little blue camera next to my name on this post and it will show you our body shape and a component or two.

Duane !! Thanks for unraveling the mystery for me about posting a pic. I've followed your instructions and lets see if this works.

I couldnt resist giving this a corny byline " Flight, bombadier. Standby for IP. Bomb bay doors open..."

Bob:
I am confused. In one of the photos of the white Cobra from your gallery, the decal on the windsheild says Premier Motorsports. However your website is for Pegasus Performance. Are Pegasus and Premier somehow related? And who is Arjay Engineering?
Thanks,
Russ

Bob L. delivered my Premier car and was integral to introducing me to both Pegasus and Premier Motor Sports. He is focused on getting you introduced to the car of your needs. Here are a couple of exterior pics of the finished car. I have many pictures in the various stages of the build if someone has a specific request for a particular item of interest.

bobl, Fake Snake,
Try using the "IMG" button instead of the "http://" button. It will automatically insert the link as an image in your post. If you go back and edit your post and don't see "" before and after your URL of the picture, it won't automatically insert it for you. i.e. cut/paste the URL into the IMG button... Currently it just has a link to your picture vs. the image displaying itself.
If you did use IMG the first time, go to IMG again, wipe it out and try it again. Sometimes it does not work if you get a space in there after it.
