Default Oh My

Nice car but to get me back in a Cobra or to get me back in that Cobra, you would have to throw in the BLOND!!!

Now that's gorgeous.......

Kirkhams:

Great story and a fabulous (for want and in place of any/all other superlatives) car. What a thrill for the engineers and builders in Poland to see the fruits of their labors treated thusly.

What will you guys come up with next?

Thank you.

Lowell

David
Can you post a link to a high res picture so I can load it onto my desktop.

The one with the car by itself in the display.

Once again you have built an awsome car.

TC - you're right about it missing the presence of a tough V8 in place. I bet the suspension was wound down to the bottom of it's adjustment. The body is crouching over those tires like no other "turnkey minus" I've ever seen !!! Doesn't it look fantastic! I bet you can't wait to get your own KMP on the road...

Durt - It's called marketing! That $2000 would buy me 2 1/2 sets of those tires even after being gouged be old Shelby! But if you have the money I have a barely used set for only $1,595 (includes shipping). TC - this offer is good for you too!

They must be very special tires, or else I got a great deal from Roger Kraus a couple of months ago. It was probably better to show it w/o an engine. Can't use a Shelby aluminum BB and be "Powered by Ford" (it was the Ford display after all, and it also seems that Ford chose not to display a Shelby product for whatever reason). An old block just doesn't seem sano enough for that car and a new Ford crate motor doesn't seem exotic enough. Better to leave the canvas blank. That way everyone can "see" what they want.

It just seemed that those 'unobtainable' Eagles had a remarkable resemblance to the tires I obtained for 200$ a pop two months ago.
I'm strongly considering applying for the tire concession at Kirkham.
What a pantload.

Durt, what's the big deal? All someone has to do is factor in that price delta into their bid--it is an auction after all. Also, I think I'd want to find out if there is a difference between the tires on this KMP, and what Shelby and Krause sell before I would jump to conclusions.

Default Goodyear Tires

Hi David, really great car that you guys built. As everyone stated, you really raised the bar. I was wondering about the Goodyear tires that are on it it. Are they street tires or non- DOT racing tires? If thery are street legal, where can they be had. Thanks, Tom.

TC-

He found something to scratch and is going to keep scratching until HE is happy, probably.

It seems like all the other readers have figured it out when they first saw the offering. I know I did.

The tires on the car are racing tires that were built in Chile. We have been told by Shelby (The Goodyear race tire distributer) (we did not check with Krause) that the tires were no longer available. At the SEMA show I talked with a Goodyear engineer who confirmed the tire situation. He told me that they would no longer be making this tire in Chile and that the molds were in the process of being moved back to the USA. He did not know how long the tire would be out of production. On a brighter note he said that he would look into finding out if Goodyear tires with decent speed ratings could be brought into this country. He said that while no Goodyear tires where built for USA that would work; it was possible that some tires made for other markets might fit the bill…

Tom,

During my visit to Shelby's shop in April they had already started production and distribution in the US. In fact the same "type" tires on my car were made with the new molds here in the US and I purchased them from Shelby in November '02. The problem with the Chile tires is that the quality control was so poor that tires often were up to 4 oz. out of spec. This problem, I was told, has now been addressed since moving production back to the States. What you don't want are the Chile version.

This is all directly from Shelby - honest! I still have original US spec tires for $1,595 though! The profit I guarantee will go towards one of those georgous Kirkham's.
