trigo wheels
I bought new trigos for my car,but now I am wishing I would have gotten something in magnesium ,I would like to be more period looking,I have thought about bead blasting these and just letting them tarnish, does any one have experience or ideas I can use with totally trashing my new wheels ?
as always ,thanks for the help ,,,Tk

Magnesium is high maintainence
misfit -
Be thankful you didn't go with real Magnesium - it is pretty high maintainence for street use. Although they are light and strong for their weight, they do not do well in the elements or with the road hazards of daily driving.
I would suggest painting your wheels with a dark grey epoxy paint. If the color is selected carefully, and the paint applied in a dry mist, I think you could achieve the "look" of tarnished Magnesium without incurring the worries of using real Magnesium. You want the color fairly dark, and with a little "tooth" to it.
good luck.
regards,
Jeff

TK..I know the look you are trying to get...
...and, I know the feelings about trashing a new set of Trigos just for that "look".
Here is a magnesium wheel on an original S/C.. it got so bad that the guy painted the wheel with cold- zinc gray paint.
I would be wary driving on a set of old magnesium wheels.

yep,,thats it,I had thought of the paint,,or even re powder coating them,,
the tires in the pic are also the style lettering I want, thats what I thought I was getting from Krauss racing, but mine are the modern style large letters, did they make a mistake since I was told I was getting the vintage blue streaks, like the ones on that gorgeous red fia's of Rick Parkers,,until I saw those I assumed mine were all that were availible.
thanks,Tim
