Brent,
No, I do not see the black dot on any of my posts where I have posted more than once for the past several days. I have already checked all options and everything in my computers, and it is strange that this just suddenly happened. I think last Sunday is when it started with me as I normally have from 5 to 15 notifications on Monday morning. When I logged on and just had 5 e-mails and they were regular e-mails then I started to wonder and came out and looked at a couple of posts that I had posted to and some of them had several answers since my last post. I have also tried just subscribing to posts that I haven't posted in with the same results.
Art,
So we now have two problems pinpointed. The e-mail test that I sent you was never returned to me as I searched for that also.

Art, I know people are getting mails from the site externally, but it appears that there is a problem with your mail getting to you...Still investigating. Since Ron doesn't show the black dot, his problem may be different. How about you, do you see the black dot on the envelope for this thread?
Ron, try this....Log off the site (don't just leave it, actually click the log off button on the home page for main forum page). Then, in your browser, go to the "tools" menu. Click on "internet options" then on that page, click on delete cookies (warning: All your cookies will be deleted, so if you have log in info for other sites stored, you'll have to log in again to those sites). If you choose not to delete the cookies, then just try logging out and then back in. See if that changes anything.
Bryan, if you are speaking to clubcobra.com/ccmail well, that will be pulled off line, as it is a lot more trouble than it could possibly be worth. TONS of spam to many members, and I can't seem to filter properly without (ironically) totally breaking email for the boards. I sent mail a while ago indicating that the mail would be turned off unfortunately.

I have not received them in ages. Still using the same software, just no email updates. How would I know I have 'spam' filter set in lotus notes.

I don't use the e-mail notification feature.
But, as a test, I turned it on for one thread this a.m.
I am receiving the Notify e-mails fine....
..with about a 1-minute lag from time-of-post to time-stamp on message.

Brent,
When I leave the site I always log off. Also before I go off line I always clear all cookies, off line files and history of places visited. After I get off line I do a search for any newly created files and if there are any I look at them to see what they are and delete most of them. I keep my cache cleaned all the time and also use explorer to go in and delete certain AOL files that from time to time become garbaged. This is just a ritual that I have always gone through and nothing is working so far as getting my e-mail notifications back.
As a side note, just to make sure, yesterday I uninstalled AOL completely, defragged the disk, reinstalled AOL and it is still the same in that computer.

Now that you mention it, my email notification has stopped working also. Haven't received a CC email in 2 days.

Chaplin,
You stopped receiving the notifications at the same time I did. As for the e-mail feature it works as I e-mailed one of the members on another post through the link and he received it ok and I received his back. So it seems everything is working for me except the notification.

Ernie, sorry I am so late sending you the test e-mail. I never received yours and of course no e-mail notification that anyone had posted to this thread or any of the others that I now see have new posts. I did send speedraser an e-mail through the club in the Anyone Hurt post and he received it ok and sent me one and I received it ok, so this seems to be another problem that is affecting just certain people. I sent you an e-mail just beforw posting this so if it works you should have it. Now. I am going through all of my threads that I have posted to and looking to see if there are any new posts.
Brent,
I tried subscribing to a whole forum to see what would happen and I have never received any notifications from that either. I subscribed to the All Cobra Talk Forum. Chaplin stopped receiving the notifications at the same time I did if that will help any.

Ron-
Maybe we're being "phased out"

Chaplin,
In your case phased out might work. In my case I think kicked out would be the preference. I have just spent an hour on checking stuff in two compupters and I can't find anything that should be blocking the notifications. Also the fact that I can send and receive e-mail through the links with some and not others would seem to point to some kind of server glitch. I know these type problems can be bears to chase down sometimes and that is why you wish it would fail for everyone, not just some.

I just came from AOL, no mail from Ron.
AND stinkin' AOL crashed my computer AGAIN immediatly after I checked for mail! So I can't rule out there is something wrong with my AOL (which I will now re-install, AGAIN)!

Ernie,
Are you installing AOL from a CD? I had to get a later version of the 9.0 enhanced to make everything work and I haven't had a problem with them since the Microsoft patch that wiped out the mail extras. But that has nothing to do with receiving mail from the club or anywhere else. Funny that some e-mail can be sent and received on the club and others won't work at all though it tells you it was sent. Maybe we should start looking at what isp the ones who don't get it are using and see if we can find a pattern. I even logged on with AOL and then minimized it and used IE 6.2 and still couldn't send and receive from some through the club.

I'm loading from a recent "down load" of AOL 9 I got from their Web Site. Which I ASSUME is more recent than my CD. If these crashes continue much longer I will be forced to abandon AOL 9 and go back to 8. This is REALLY hard on my hard drive!

Rick,
The suspense is over. I never got any e-mail notification of your or Ernie's posts. Have you tried e-mailing anyone through the link at the bottom of the post to see if it goes?
Ernie,
That is really strange the way it crashes your computer. Do you have the Broadband set up? I know that you have a high speed connection and are you using the AOL through it? I know a perdson in chico that is on another ISP and they have AOL as an add on or something like that and have never had a problem. I e-mailed Dave last night and asked him about it and he said he never had any trouble of any kind.
