Enclosed Interstate Transport - Recommendations?
I need some good referrals on ENCLOSED interstate transport. Someone that has dealt with exotics and specialty cars (like Cobras).
I noticed a forum sponsor (Rich's) flashing above, but I don't know Rich from Adam. Please help, thanks!

I recently had Rich Lacey transport a few cars and was totally satisfied with the courtesy and promptness.
Another very reputable transporter is Eric Hinderberger from Performance Engineering at 513-738-5001. Eric transported both Superformances flawlessly.

Deano,
Rich has carried a lot of vehicles for many people we know. Including one for me.
He is a small carrier, more customized to your needs type of hauling. He does not do it in one of those big rigs. His trailers are fully enclosed and can carry two cars at a time.
He is an employee of Shell Valley (I belive) he knows Cobras, he knows Cobra owners, he knows how to properly secure them. He is reliable and will keep you posted on the progress, where he is and he will get there.
I believe his brother, or brother in law drives the second rig. Totally a mom and pop operation with full insurance. It doesn't get any better than that.

I also recommend Intercity Lines
They were great to deal with and I saw a bunch of their trucks at Monterey Historics so I know they are trusted.

Check out InterCity. They do not adverstise this fact but if you do not need your car transported ASAP then they have a very affordable rate where they will transport your car when the have excess room. Those guys at InterCity are great, their equipment is spotless and they take great pride in their work. They transported a car for me from Barrett-Jackson in AZ to CT 2 years ago. Would gladly do buisness with them again.

Are we talking about Enclosed VEHICLE Transport or Enclosed Interstate Transport? I have used the former on many occasions.

Enclosed VEHICLE transport across INTERSTATE lines.
I'm kinda liking the idea of using a small runner like Rich....he can go door to door much easier than the large trailers. I'll give him and InterCity a call to get quotes. Thanks, everyone!

If I am not wrong, Enclosed Vehicle Transport is the only designated carrier for BMW's performance cars in the U.S.

I have used RELIABLE CARRIERS in the past, as does the auto industry folks in Detroit for show cars, concept cars etc. see :
http://www.reliable-carriers.com/
I also used Rich Lacey, advertiser on Club Cobra. He delivered my 57 Bird I bought outside of Denver to my home in Detroit area in prompt fashion with car arriving looking just like it did when it was loaded for shipment. Great service.
there are many listed in Hemmings, most already mentioned here on other posts. Go with one that someone has had good expericnces with though , let someone else be the guinea pig for those without referrals. bill

I used Enclosed Vehicle Transport last summer to deliver my Cobra, and while the pricing was competitive and the delivery process was fine, their communication with me sucked. It was very difficult to get them to return calls or emails with what was going on with my delivery. When you're waiting on the car of your dreams (that's already been paid for), the last thing you want is a company that won't respond to your inquiries. I won't use them again.

Concours Transport. Took the Gasholes and friends to Flings 2 and 3 without a scratch, delay or problem. Good price and friendly folks. Ask for Mitch as your driver, and tell Fred I sent you.

Red,
Intercity - FIRST RATE! They do a lot of ERA's cobras, extremely careful and very nice to work with. I thought the rate was excellent as well.

I also had a good experience with Rich Lacey. He delivered my Cobra to me. Very prompt service...and he and his wife (they travel together) are two of the friendliest people you've ever met. I think you'd be very pleased with them.

I have used Enclosed Vehicle Transport on several occasions. The last car they transported was my 300 SL Gullwing. I found their service to be outstanding and competitive. Kevin was a great guy to coordinate with, and they use a two car--no staging--type of transporter. They are very finnicky about how they load and unload (you get the feeling that they are very, very serious about the welfare of your car). I would use them again in a a heartbeat.

Rich Lacey delivered my Shell Valley cobra from the factory when I purchased it. He was in touch with me every day on his location and anticipated delivery time. I was very satisfied with him.

Intercity
They delivered my car from mid west to west coast in the middle of a huge winter storm. It was on time (early in fact) and in perfect condition. Driver actually wore white cotton gloves when dealing with the car. The cost was right in line with all the other carriers I talked to. I would use them again.

InterCity Lines
I have used InterCity Lines twice, highly recommended. The husband and wife driver team was great, excellent service commitment to high standards and price competitive.
Yes, there are other excellent transport providers, but I would not have any reason to switch to another carrier
