Looks like an original fan belt for a small block Cobra......So, were did you find this rarity, and what else did you get with it (like another Cobra)???????

Bill, You are too good! Yep. It's an original fan belt off of a 289 Cobra. It belongs to a friend who bought his car brand new in 1964 and has owned it ever since. Yes, a one owner car. And he has had the foresight to save every little bitty original piece of the car he has had to replace along those forty years, including the origianl mufflers and pipes that reside in the rafters of his garage! Amazing! He has helped me document many parts for the 289 Cobras over the years. Has anyone else ever seen one of these fan belts?

While tagging along with the SAAC concourse judges years ago, I seem to remember them pointing at the fan belt...it just stuck in my mind.........Ask your friend if he wants to leave me the car in his will .............Or do I need to put another "free cobra wanted" advertisement in the next SAAC newsletter .....

Bill, I have been trying to convince him to adopt ME, but to no avail. The car will stay in his family for many years to come, he tells me. I think that's wonderful. He is a great guy and always goes out of his way to help me with all my questions. His daughter-in-law has recently purchased a Tiger ( Sunbeam, not ex-Roy), so the fascination with 289 Fords goes on.
