Best sellling color
I am getting close to having to choose a paint color for the SV car,my plan is to enjoy it until I get the csx ,then put it for sale,,
427 top oil stroker, toploader, what would your guys color choice be from a saleable stand point?
I am getting solid red in the csx,my taste lean toward viking blue,or possibly silver,,I love the guardsmana or alcupaco with stripes and meat balls, but blue is done so much,,,,help !

You've heard the term re-sale red, right? There's a reason for that...also everyone wants the same blue w/ white stripes...I have no idea why...but if you were building to resale, that would probably be the best color.

My ERA will be either red or black, two colors available on the originals.I think as long as you stay with colors originally offered, you are always safe.Solids are also much easier to touch up when chipped by the non-dot Goodyear gumballs everyone seems to eventially gravitate to if running 15"ers.Solid dark green also looks excellent!

Correct,
When I say I have a Cobra, most say "is it blue and white?"
Unfortunately, Dodge is abusing the blue/white these days.

Blue & White !!! Hey......I know people must be getting sick of seeing so many blue / white Cobra's, but they keep selling like hot-cakes! It's the most popular color combo out there.
The nice thing about it lately though,is that it seems a lot of people are going with "different" colors of blue. Some are even using different colors (other than white) for stripes (Like Indigo w/ titanium stripes is a sweet combo). Try and find a nice blue that nobody else has!
Another combo that is very popular is Titanium (or Sliver) with Black stripes. Very "clean" and classy looking. They always seem to sell fast on Cobra Country.
.....Have FUN with it until the CSX comes!

I chose Guardsman blue with wimbleton white stripe, and I did not give a rats a$$ what everyone else thought, It is my favorite color.
Choose whatever color makes you happy Maybe there is a reason for so many blue/white cobras?

How about a nice British Racing Green with Wimbleton White Stripes? Different but not enough to affect resale in a bad way.

Red, classic red like a fire engine, with a WHITE stripe (not silver, not off white, PURE white). Chrome roll bar.
That will sell.

If it were me, I'd nix the stripes. To be honest, how many pictures here on CC of original Cobras have you seen with them? Not only would it make the car different in its own way, but you would look like a fair percentage of CSX's out there.
I tend to stay away from the stripes....to me when I see one with stripes, I think of other things....black with white stripes reminds me of a Zebra....white with red stripes reminds me of Christmas. Red with white stripes reminds me of a candy cane. Blue with white stripes reminds me of a 97 Dodge Viper GTS.
I'm just anal though. BTW, didn't mean to step on anyone's toes with that one.....just expressing an opinion.

I'm with you,Blykins. The car is so small,to me the stripes almost overwhelm it and distract from it's beautiful bodylines.I'm going to go stripeless myself.

.......I've always liked the look of a solid color as well. I originally wanted a solid BLACK car. They look pretty "plain" when they're first delivered, but when you get the side pipes on, SS roll bar, all the badges, and shine up the rims.......wow. To me it looks MEAN from the front, without stripes. The car looks to have a much wider stance also. Check it out the next time you park 2 Cobra's side by side, and look at them from the front end.........the car with no stripes looks A LOT wider.
Another neat color combo (IMHO) is the 40th Anniv. Shelby Car. I think that solid Blue is awsome (that's a neat blue!), and the accent of the Black hood scoop is a nice touch.
BUT.......I think the question by misfit was, "best color for RESALE". Sure, I normally would tell someone to go with whatever color combo THEY want, and screw what anyone else thinks........but he's trying to decide what to paint the car to make it attractive to OTHER people when it comes time for him to sell it. That's why I said "Blue & White". It is STILL the most popular color combo out there (although Titanium & Black is making a strong showing lately!).

I say do whatever "rings your chims" as long as the color and graphics are original. As for me, my favorite--because it's what I have--is red. The color is solid non-metallic Rio Red, a '92 Ford pickup truck color that's matches the red originally used.
Saying that, one of the nicest combinations I've ever seen is James Balwin's ERA in silver with white stripes and wheels painted to match.

This is about RE-SALE, not what you like. What will likely sell the best on the open market.
STRIPES! A car with them will sell quicker and for a higher amount with than without them. Of course they are exceptions to the rule, but when your selling you work the law of averages, not exceptions.
Turk mentioned something once that caught be by surprise. Something about red Corvettes with white interior being one of their best sellers! Go figure, would not be MY first choice, but if I'm gonna sell it, I might order one like that!

Ernie,
You can add stripes if it's a deal maker.

Ernie: Yes, but you have to consider where Turk is - California. Red cars are HUGE out there. The SPF dealers out there sell a ton of red cars......but the dealer in Ohio won't sell 2 a year.
.....White interior????? Ouch! ....Good 'ol California!!!
