Kobra Motor Company
Are there any owners of a "Kobra Motor Company" Cobra out there?
Has anyone actually seen one of these vehicles up close? I'd sure be interested in hearing your comments about the car and/or company.
Thanks,
Derek

A Google search yielded the following results:
http://www.kmcobras.com/
It looks like a new site.
I'm in no way qualified to comment one way or another about this vehicle as I'm still learning about the various manufacturers but perhaps someone out there can shed more light on this.

Before anyone gets any funny ideas, kmcobras is NOT affiliated with Kirkham Motorsports in ANY way.
I didn't even know they existed until 10 seconds ago.

I just learned about them too. FYI, I added them to my MAP
Some interesting facts about their website:
1. It was created on Febuary 5, 2003
2. It was registered by someone in Scottsdale, Arizona
3. They are located in Brampton, ON, Canada

Apparently the Kobra Motor Company is the outfit who acquired all of Johnex's tooling after they went under, and last I heard, was still building a car virtually identical to the Johnex.
A chassis link on their site takes you to CSC Racing, which was the same outfit who was building the chassis for Johnex. Apparently CSC has not yet modified their site to reflect the changes at Johnex, as it still indicates that the CSC chassis is being built for them.

Kobra Motor Company has all the assets of Johnex but hasn't accepted much of the responsibilities. One of our customers paid for a turn-key in full. Before he recieved his car, Johnex dissappeared. He went up with a U-haul to try and collect parts. He got a body mounted to a frame and a motor. We have called Kobra Motors in attempts to get parts and they are unwilling to help. If their Customer Service and Support is akin to their Sales...buyers beware! How long will your Cobra manufacturer be around to support your project?

ColoradoCobras - In all fairness, how can KMC be expected to be responsible for the irresponsibility of the former owners of the tooling it now possesses? This doesn't seem right. I know if I purchased the tooling from a defunct co., I sure wouldn't want that company's former customers coming to me expecting me to make good on obligations made by a party totally unrelated to me. Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to help them out, but it would cost them. After all, companies (especially new companies) can't be giving stuff away for free and expect to survive. Am I missing something here?

Derek,
If "Kobra Motor Company" (not KMC which is how Kirkham is refered to) bought out the assets and liabilities of the old Joanex company, along with it's current orders (which in fact I believe they did), then they are indeed responsible for filling the old orders that were already in the system. Due dillegence is what must be looked at here as to how they purchased the assets and files from the old company. Without that information, anything else is just speculation. Kind of like any Houston based company buying another. if you bought the company, you bought it lock stock and barrel...The good and the bad.................As others have stated above, let the buyer beware...........
