Default N.a.f. 427 S.c.

Does anyone own a 427 S.C. made by ( N.A.F. ) North American Fiberglass ? What happened to this Company?
In my oppinion they built a fantastic body and frame. I know they were around in the 80's.
I currently own a NAF built 427 S.C. built in the mid 80's, I call um THUMPER.

You can do a members search to find other N.A.F. owners.
I know Jack Kube was the owner and the cars graced of few magizine covers. Some good articles were written on his Cobra and GT40. The first replica I saw in the flesh was a N.A.F. I don't know what happened to the company. They were around for quite
a while. That side oiler you got is everyone's envy. Have fun!

In 1989 Jack sold the business and the new owner renamed it Auto Sport Performance Products (ASPP). A couple of years ago Jack bought the business back and kept the name ASPP.
I believe the business is now located in Superior, AZ.

ASPP? Is that the Fiero/GT40 boys? If it is, haven't seen anything from them in a long time.

Glad to see other NAF owners out there, going to download some pictures soon as I learn how.
Got all the history on thumper since day one. The car was built for Bill Godwin, Was featured in KIT CAR MAGAZINE ( Sept. 87' ),
KIT CAR ILLASTRATED ( Feb. 88', Volume 5, Number 1 ),
HOT RODS 1989 CALENDAR ( Special 16 Month Edition ). Trying to find out which Edition of HOT ROD the car was in, " if any ".
There are other Magazines the car was in, Also trying to find them.
Thanks for the input!

Thumbs up

I just bought a NAF 289 FIA--it's an '89 , SB '67 Hi-po slightly modified 289, factory built in Tempe as a roller--pretty rough right now---anyone know where I might get a rollbar for a 289?

NAF Cobra information:
I was contacted by someone named Vince who is creating an NAF website for "Jack, the owner of NAF Cobra". I own a 427 built in '91, and this individual wants to use my photos as "owner cars" for publicity purposes.
Anybody out there know what this is about? According to the previous thread, Jack is reopening or restarting the company? Any word on the street? I would be happy to share the photos and technical information if Vince represents Jack's new/old company.

Any inside information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,

That is correct Jack Kube has relocated to Superior AZ and is building GT-40s, Cobra's and other cars.

I'm helping him out with his web site. www.nafcobra.com

Regards,
AZvinnie.

Hello,

I don't know Jack real well. (He's friends with my brother Ted, I'm just helping out with the web site) but it's my understanding that Jack will build what ever you want... just a body or a turn key car. Of course I can't speak for Jack. The best bet is to give him a call at 520-689-0100.

There is a link to his email on the web site www.nafcobra.com but I don't think he checks it very often at this time.

Regards,
Vince.

Hey Jacks son,

Do you have the molds for the 289 bodies, slabside & FIA styles?
There could come a time when we need body pieces (???)

I just bought a NAF car that was facory built by Auto Sport Performance Products. called a GT-1 according to them...supposedly set up to meet the SCCA GT-1 technical specs at the time. Interesting car.
