Enlighten Me On Push/Pull Clutch Slaves

Are there any preferences? One better than the other? Is the only difference the orientation? I would assume the push slave cylinder would be positioned in front of the clutch fork and push towards the rear, while the pull would be mounted behind the clutch fork and pull, correct? I've never really got down to the nitty-gritty of hydraulic clutches....if someone would care to explain, I'd be happy to listen.

Currrently, I have a small block with a street/strip 10.5" B&B style pressure plate....a Lakewood Toploader bellhousing that requires a slave cylinder. I was planning on going with a Wilwood pedal assembly, and while I was looking, their own slave cylinder popped up. It's a pull type. Would this work?

Either will work if there's enough room to put it. I think they offer a pull one because a lot of the race cars,which is/was their main business have pretty crowded engine compartments and that's one less thing they have to run headers around. I prefer push type,but that's just my preference.

I have Wilwood pull types on my 34 Ford coupe, and my Cobra. Both work well, the pull type are easy to rig, just keep it in a straight line. The one in the Cobra is almost 6 years old, no problems.
