Happy New Year everyone.

Nice post Brent. Glad to see your sunshine crowd jumps in with support as usual.

I have been visiting club cobra for less then a year, but I could not agree more with Brent. Who cares what brand of cobra it is unless it is as orginal. We all love our car, and the sport, thats what is important. I would think that any or use should be able to ask a questions that is on our mind and get a objective reply
back. Not mine is betttrer then yours (as we all believe)

Meat, welcome back ... and I think that was the shortest post you've ever made!

Roscoe ... no, no, no. The question is small or big block!

Brent ... thanks again for everything you do to keep the board up and running (as well as civil)!

Happy New Year!

I've been away for a very long time with just a rare visit now and then.

But I had noticed the difference, and I think this is great advice.

Now what we can do is be pro active, and when this gets started, step in and de-fuse it (tactfully!).

The members have to respect not just each other, but also the forum, which serves all of us so well.

Regards to all,

Meat,

I'm speaking only for myself here. However, I want to be very clear. You are undoubtedly intelligent. You can be very funny. And, you can be very vicious. There's a reason why you were, at least for some period of time, if not still now, unwelcome at the newer FF forum, following the collapse of the prior one. Clearly, you still have some fans. I was one at one time, but no longer. If this is the end of your "self-imposed exile" from Club Cobra, I can only hope you will indeed take the message about respect to heart.

Tom T... I can assure that you that you speak for me and likely many other "Charter' CC members as well. After seeing these posts, many things from the past immediately came back to mind for me, things I know shall never forget.... ever. (and I didn't have to go to either FFR site to get my dander whipped).

Ummmmm.....

I am the very model of a Newsgroup Personality
I intersperse obscenity with tedious banality.
Addresses I have plenty of, both genuine and ghosted to,
On all the countless newsgroups that my drivel is cross-posted to.

Your bandwidth I will fritter with my whining and my sniveling,
And you're the one who pays the bill downloading all my driveling.
My enemies are numerous, and no one would be blaming you
For thinking me a d**kh**d after I've been rudely flaming you.

I hate to lose an argument (by now I should be used to it).
I wouldn't know a valid point if I was introduced to it.
My learning is extensive but consists of mindless trivia,
Designed to fan my ego, which is larger than Bolivia.

The comments that I vomit forth, disguised as jest and drollery,
Are really just an exercise in unremitting trollery.
I say I'm frank and forthright, but that's merely lies and vanity,
The gibberings of one who's at the limit of ones sanity.

If only I could get a life, as many people tell me to;
If only mum could find a circus freak-show she could sell me to;
If I go off to Zanzibar to paint the local scenery;
If I lose all my fingers in a mishap with machinery;

If I survive to forty, which is somewhat problematical;
If what I post was more mature, or slightly more grammatical;
If I could learn to spell a bit, and maybe even punctuate;
Would I still be the loathsome and objectionable prat you hate?

But while I have this tiresome urge to prance around and show my face,
It's simply isn't safe for normal people here in cyberspace.
To stick me in Old Sparky and turn on the electricity
Would be a fitting punishment for my egocentricity.

I always have the last word; so, with utmost of finality,
That's all from me, the model of a Newsgroup Personality.

Maybe I am intelligent, and maybe I'm not. Maybe I'm funny, and maybe I'm not. Maybe I'm vicious, and maybe I'm not. That's all completely irrelevant. What is also irrelevant is whether anyone at a site that was started by stealing member lists and whole threads welcomes me or not. Whether I have fans - and whether you're a fan or not - means absolutely nothing, either.

Why is it irrelevant? Why is all of that meaningless?

Because - as Brent posted - "If you can’t find a way to communicate in a respectful manner, keep it to yourself. Which you didn't.

Because - as Brent posted - STOP! THINK! Then post something that is useful to the group without pushing someone’s buttons. Obviously, you didn't stop, obviously, you didn't think, and clearly you decided to push someone's buttons with your post.

Because I'm dismissing your post. You posted to push buttons, rather than to add something constructive. You posted to get a rise out of someone.

Maybe you should go back and reread Brent's post again. There's a reason why his post was made.

Your pal,
Meat.

I did post with respect. I did think. And you know I spent a fair amount of my time to help you a couple of years ago when you were in the middle of a sh_tstorm with someone on the internet, and were concerned about possible harm coming to you. Meat, I didn't end up disliking your behavior for the hell of it. You can count on me not to bring this up again, unless you get particularly nasty. You can write your own book on your return. Best of luck, and I mean that.

I think Brent's message was made for a variety of reasons.

....just a calibration, that's needed now and then, of the standards for group communication.

Nice to hear concurrence.

Now, to keep the topic 'on-topic'... message delivered.
New discussions should be held on new threads.

Have fun
