Turkey Pan ???

I'm may not be the smartest guy around but like to think I'm reasonably well versed in vehicle nomenclature. However, what the heck is a "turkey pan" and how did it get that name?

A turkey pan is an alluminum shroud shaped like a "turkey pan" surrounding the carb and making a seal with the hood scoop. In 1965 mindset this was supposed to pressurize the air intake and generate power.

Hi all,

Just finished making one and was fortunate enough to read another 'Thread' - where it was suggested to cut out holes to adjust idle, mixture, float levels etc.

I'm using a soft rubber to seal against the hood.

Used the bottom of the old air cleaner for a template.

Bernie: Are you making the rubber seal yourself?

-Does anyone know if someone sells a seal for the top of the Turkey Pan and where I can find one??
