Default aluminum paint?

Ive seen some cars (fiberglass) that have the bottom of the hood detailed to look like aluminum. Is this paint or what? I realize some are actually aluminum but sme are not . How is this done?

There is a guy in the Houston area that is a member of the Texas Cobra Club. I saw his underhood and he has the aluminum you are talking about. It really looks cool. He told us where he had it done, but I don't remember. Try the club and I bet he will respond.

Default Thin Aluminum Sheet

On my car, I slit the back edge of the hood so that I could slip a thin sheet of aluminum in between the inner and outer skins.

Then I had my bodyman 'glass it back together. I stress a THIN sheet of aluminum - the first one I tried was too strong, and wanted to flatten out the natural curvature of my hood.

regards,

cobrajeff

Default VERY NICE HOOD!

Cobrajeff, I must compliment you on that one. If I didnt know any better Id swear that was an aluminum hood. Id guess that keeps the "fenderknockers" away, eh?
