Default Side pipe repair...

Crack in sidepipe right at the bracket weld... will a reweld hold or should I just get another pipe?

I would just brun and if that dosen't hold get a new pipe, But a good weld should hold it.

Cool If all you do is..........

re-weld it it will crack again. The way the Lone Star pipes attach to the car, they do not allow much movement created by the torque of the engine. You have a couple choices: attach a torque strap to the engine to limit movement, or re-engineer the attachment point to allow some movement. I'll bet the pipe that cracked is on the driver side.

Default Had it welded...

I took the (driver side pipe) to a local shop that manufactures Tuna towers and T- tops for boats. They were very proficient in pipe welding (TIG) welding.
I spoke with someone at Lone Star who said that they reccommend putting about 3/8" of rubber gasket material between the pipe bracket and the frame... So far so good...
