FYI, the man in the marroon sweater in the foreground of the photo is the famous Cobra race car driver, Bob Olthoff. He drove the Willment coupe and many other Cobras in South Africa and Europe during the 1960's. He was very successful and now sells Superformance Cobras and Coupes near Salisbury, NC. When Al took the picture, Bob was telling us details of the 289 Cobras he raced and how they differed from the Shelby team cars, since they were created at AC instead of at the Shelby shop in California. Incredible, fascinating stories from a wonderful, modest man.
His son, Dennis, and Dennis' wife, drove the new Superformance coupe to the show. I want one!!!

All great photos. Looks like you mastered your new camera, Al. How about winning Factrory Five's gift certificate! Have you decided what to do with it yet?

David, I won't be at the Nashville event, unfortunately. Thanks for asking. I hope to see you again, perhaps at a VIR or Charlotte event.
It was nice to see old friends at the Whitby show, especially Al and Sandy Adkins, Earl Groce, the Collins family and crew, and to finally get to meet the bard of Club Cobra, Hal Copple. He and his car are both even better in person. Great stories, as usual, but unfortunately, I didn't get to talk to him as long as I would have liked. He looked like Nanook of the North as he left for what had to be a VERY chilly ride home, but he certainly knows the routine, as witnessed by the googles and very warm garb. Thanks to Hal for coming so far!
