Default How much leverage is needed....

to disengage a clutch?

I don't have the pedals installed in my car yet...When I bolt the tranny up next week, I'd like to try it in gear since it's been newly rebuilt. If the T/O bearing and clutch fork are installed, could I provide enough leverage by pulling on the fork to disengage the clutch long enough to swap cogs?

Not likely, unless you're built like the Guv'nor of California. Figure from 200-500 lbs effort required, depending on your clutch. (That's figuring backword from 40-100lbs pedal pressure x 5:1 mechanical advantage.)

Well crap. I guess I'll just have to shut the engine down, put it in gear and start it in gear...no wheels or tires on it....a 4.41 gear drive starter shouldn't have much trouble....
