Default new design

I think that the front end looks like a 350Z and needs to be more directly linked to the 427 'roundness' on the front fender cross section. I wonder what the price will be---60+??

What's all this business about the Cobra name goin' back to Detroit? The Cobra name is currently in use as a version of the Mustang(390hp paxton blowered, I believe). That car shoulda been a GT550 or something. There's a niche Shelby could have filled nicely.
The new Cobra may prove to be interesting, maybe not.
Now the Ford GT, I gots to get me hands on one ah them jewels.

Checked out Bill's link. The car doesn't move me, just as well, I've got a few cars talking to me and the only way I can silence the voices is by getting them in my garage.

I believe the original Cobra appearance was secondary and fairly unimportant. Wasn't its accomplishments on the track the primary reason for the iconic stature? I've always been under the impression that Carrol Shelby wanted to build a racecar first, then stuck some license plates on his 'frankensteins' to make it legit. For this new creation to be as successful as the original, I believe Ford would have to go out and prove this car is worthy. Otherwise they can park this car with the other Shelby hits like the Dodge Omnis and Plymouth Arrows.
Build the race car first- win the races- then offer to sell us the race cars with licence plates attached to them! We all have the ability to build a car that will outhandle outstop and out accelerate any production vehicle manufactured, just look through the members gallery. But beating up on the big boys in an international circuit- then selling the general public the car...now thats what makes a legendary car!

Greg, yes I know the new GT has a supercharged 5.4 now....
The V10 I was talking about was the one FoMoCo touted 2 or 3 years ago on their stands on the showcar circuit when the GT was still a rumor. I think it also appeared in the first mock up that was 'accidentally' leaked to gauge interest. The same motor is now in the 'Boss 351' Mustang prototype that is making the rounds.

I would agree with Shelbys comment about the front nose opening not being "quite right" for the Cobra look. This is after a "concept" car. I'm sure there is some room to tweak the final lines, should they decide to do that. In general, I like it!

IT LOOKS LIKE $HIT!

When the Ford GT was being designed, the designers said that they tried to make the car more modern looking. After several attempts they always went back to making it look more like the original GT40.

On this forum there has been several visions of what a modern Cobra might look like, and they were ALL alot better looking than that Pontiac Aztec looking thing they say is the "new Shelby Cobra".

Default call me a curmudgeon, but ...

I've got to agree - doesn't do much for me. I get the feeling that if someone carved the cobra shape into a bar of soap, and then used it for a few days, this is what you might end up with.
