Default sb100 Certificate - Received in today's mail

Wow,

It almost took less time to receive the actual cetificate in the mail, than it took to stand in line last Friday. I got the actual certificate today, along with the BAR instructions.

At least the DMV has this process down. Now I just have to go back to the DMV and get their form #124 giving the CHP permission to give me a VIN# - oops, the guy at the counter forgot. I've got time, so no sweat.

Sounds like the issuance of numbers has slowed down.

Default sb 100 fee calculation

Congratulations on receiving your certificate! I'm hoping to visit DMV tomorrow with all paperwork and receipts. The amount of the fees people are paying is scaring me a little. Does anyone know what percentage of the cost of the car dmv is using to calculate reg fees and taxes?

I received #77 around 11 AM on Friday.

I paid a great deal in fees but the vast majority was USE TAX which is equal to Sales Tax in my county on the cost of my car. As such, I will not pay sales tax on the completed car. I provided them the cost of my roller plus installed drivetrain - not a pretty picture. The rest of the fees (VLF and others) were only a few hundred dollars, based on a well equipped SPF.

Tony, make sure you get a Form #124 which authorizes the CHP to issue you a VIN number (assuming you don't have a 17 digit VIN). Good luck.
