Bandit - I don't see how we can disagree totally based on your last post - I am always on at Evan for trying to diminish the AC input into the Cobra.
But you can't resist a little dig aimed at diminishing CS' input into the cobra, can you???
It's late here, and time I went to bed, so I will extend the Anglo hand of friendship - let's just say that the Cobra was a great example of an Anglo-American joint effort and leave it there for tonight?

Johan...
...I resent you using my surname as an adjective...
However, I do not have a problem with you "Mucking out" the stables.......
Recently, I finally got a chance to sit down and watch the DVD of the excellent HBO production of "Band of Brothers" and had the chance to see my ancestor, Sgt. Warren "Skip" Muck portrayed in this very well done series.....sadly he does not survive the Battle of the Bulge, but he does our family proud...
Anyone who has not seen this has no real idea idea of what these people suffered on our behalf....I am not ashamed to say I cried when I watched this.
My father has a friend who was in the airborne and loves to tell "war stories"...however, he was a day late and a dollar short when it came to the real thing. these guys lived the real stuff and would rather not bring it up.
That there is NO WWII memorial is a slap in the face to these people..

The body shell is just that, a shell (modern terms, a unibody), it will not take any of the HP/torque of the engine, as the TR6 comes with a full boxed frame, one that wuill indeed handle the 240hp (estimated) that this SBF will be putting out at the crank.

Evan- No.
Rick, I haven't seen Band of Brothers yet, but it's on my list. Truly the greatest generation.
John- Please stop posting pics of White Castles. We downed a 30 pack of them at 2 am on New Year's. The effects were potent and lasted for days. I am under strict instructions not consume them ever again.

Bill S - excuse my form of words, of course the TR6 is not a full monocoque shell. Mea culpa. However, that frame is not up to sb torque without mods, as you know, and that was the same situation with the Ace.
BTW - when was the last time YOU crawled over some 50's/60's AC aces?

Mr. Wilf:
You can ask anyone that knows me and they will tell you that since I was 12 years old Carrol Shelby and the 427 S/C Cobra have been at the top of my list, period. The problem is that I have a mind of my own and I am not going to just "forget" or put to the side some of the BAD things Mr. Shelby has done while others here go out of their way to make him sound like he is a saint. He should be held accountable just like everyone else.
Pete Rose is being GRILLED for betting on baseball and lying about it. His contribution to baseball is legendary, however he is being held accountable for his actions.

It just so happens I was looking at a 1962 AC ACE this afternoon at a small body shop in Dover, NJ. The owner is doing an exterior restoration of the body as we speak,as the new owner (bought it in southern, NJ) is dropping in a fuel injected sbf and 5spd to use for his weekend cruiser this summer. So, yes, I do know what I'm looking at (in both cases)...However, I disagree that the full frame of the TR6 cannot take the HP of the small block Ford engine...The weak link is actually the center "pumpkin", which does need a little bit of work...The frame however (as long as it is rust free mind you) will be more than up to the task at hand provided it is not ebing set up as a drag race only vehicle......................Now what about the answer to my original question????????

Bandit - it appears I have not taken my own advice and gone to bed yet.....
Don't confuse me with a Shelby apologist - I am no such thing. I decry some of his actions as do you. I can't comment on, nor understand the baseball reference, not news here, nor my game anyway.
As I said, I see common ground between us.
MK IV - try having a surname like mine, and a father who was a plumber.
Bill S - was that the Chicken and egg question? The answer is emphatically, umm, er............ can I get back to you on that?

considering that Evan has an extraordinary talent for finding his head up his a** in threads like this, you would think he would enjoy the white castle commentary....

One last thought:
We New Yorkers (especially the ones that live in NYC) are not going to forget anytime soon who our friends are. Immediately after the WTC attacks the first to jump to our aid vocally and phsyically were the Brits and the Israelis.

Second set of questions for you to ponder. Was the egg real, if so, was the chicken also real .

A chicken and egg are in bed together. The chicken is smoking a cigarette, relaxed, and quite happy. The egg is in a nasty mood and not happy. And that answers that question!
