Default Pricing for new Mustang

Does anyone know what the pricing will be for the new Mustang? In the video from the Detroit show, I heard they guy say both the V-8 and the V-6 are under 20k.

He was obviously was talking base price. The '04's sell for $17,865 (190hp V6) and $23,385 (260hp V8 GT).

I wonder if they are lowering the price of the V8? That is unheard of in the auto work, isn't it?

Yeah I couldn't believe he said that in the video. With the huge attention the new Mustang is getting, I was thinking the base V-8 would start at 26k.

Unhappy $28,850 +/- a couple

hotrod,
Insiders at FORD have the New Mustang 05 GT, starting at $28,850 then adding on this'n'that as usual. Gosh, I'll still buy one just for the neat retro look if they truly stick with the "concept" they've shown.

That really isn't a bad price for a 5.0 V8 car in today's market though not very traditional for mustang pricing. I personally think it looks really nice but think it could use just a couple more finishing touches. I love the fact that it's a fastback but the whole area of the back windows just looks too smooth & I think that the addition of a spoiler would help a bunch.

Grumpy...the car they showed at the Detroit Auto Show is supposedly the "production" car as it does differ from the concept shown a year ago. I do like it very much, and probably will buy one at some point, but I'll probably wait a year or two until the SVT boys get a hold of it....
