When I had mine apart I was able to solicit opinions from several rod and kit builders. I ended up with a canvas type belting 2" wide not unlike what a "Boy Scout belt" was made of. It was a fabric and not nylon. It took approx 30 ft to cover the various lengths of the chassis where the body actually contacts it. Previously the body sat on the bare painted frame.
