Yup, looks like it could be good. The Brits tend to do a fine job with their publications. I will be including these in my bibliography when they arrive.
I do truely miss the old COBRAS magazine. They did some nice work in those few issues.

Art,
I thought that at one time I had 4 of them. But I just have 1 now as I let a friend borrow the others to look at and haven't seen them since. I can't even remember for sure who I let look at them and I have been calling for the last year and everyone denies having ever seen them. Dumb mistake on my part to loan them out.

Hi folks,
I’m pleased with your response to my announcement. Volume 1 of the new Cobra magazine shall be ‘on sale’ next week.
If you want to know anything about it, please ask.

Sign me up. What exactly are the costs involved here in the states? I there a book and a magazine? It appears that if you are already a Kit Car subscriber there is a discount. I was just a little unclear on some points after browsing the web site.
Thanks

Hi Rick,
I can see that there are unclear aspects when viewed from the USA. Let me try to bring some clarity.
The magazine is initially scheduled to be quarterly, although that might change if support comes quickly.
The content of Cobra magazine includes re-printed material from Kit Car (my Brit version). Hence, subscribers to Kit Car (my Brit version) are being offered a half price deal. Sadly that doesn’t apply to most of you folks – unless you’d like to subscribe to ‘my’ Kit Car too!
The cover price is $9 (US) which I realise is on the expensive side, but please remember the relatively small numbers being produced and the quality of production. The postage will cost me about another $4 (US).
The deal I’m offering, including postage, is:-
One for $12, Two for $18, Five for $38, Ten for $72.

It appears that the first issue of COBRAS is going to feature a comparison article on a Kirkham Replica vs an Original 1966 427 S/C Shelby Cobra. For those of you who are Kirkham fans (natics) you probably do not want to miss this first issue.
The prices quoted by Kitcarman, although at first blush seeming high, are essentially in line with typical British automotive magazines like Classic and SportsCar as well as Thoroughbred & ClassicCars. The postage over the big pond runs the price up. The magazine is cover priced in Britian at 9 Euros or $10.80+ US.
The first issue looks to be over 200 pages in length or size and the production quality of the British auto magazines I have seen is usually of high quality.
I do really wish that COBRAS would do a series of photo articles on original Cobra 427's (S/C and Street) showing detailed and up close images of various components in-situ. (ie: Dashboard and instruments, Dash tubes, foot boxes, door hinges, etc etc.
Thus, issue by issue, the COBRAS magazine would become a visual lexicon for the restorer as well as the Cobra reproduction builder. The hardest part would be to find "unrestored" and original examples of each type of 427 MK III and or 289 MK II.
Additionally, this kind of article set could then be republished later on as a book.
I would certainly like that...
When will the first copies hit the stands BTW? There is a outside chance that some of the major US bookstores could carry the magazine in their vast racks.

Hi all
Great to see a new magazine out there. I am particularly tired of getting magazines that cover events that are over 6 months old.
Must also be frustrating for car owners who have results of events or features on their cars.
Cheers

Ok, if it's coming in the mail soon, that gives me a darned good reason to shovel a path through the snow drifts to the mailbox!

I would like to thank Den for helping me get my fax sent. For those interested in faxing your subscription the number from the US is:
0-11-44-870-112-0896
I know we all look forward to having a magazine dedicated to the Cobra. It's important to remember running a magazine is a business. You cannot survive unless you sell subscritions. Since we are the target audiance we need to show our support by subscribing.

Thanks for your kind reception, folks!
Volume 1 is presently at the mailing house being packed, addressed and stamped.
I’m told that it will be shipped on Monday. Please allow 14 days for delivery – although you may find it arrives sooner than that.
Den.

All the major ones. VISA and Mastercard are very popular here. I also take AMEX which I guess is your most popular!
