Default Daytona Coupe Continuation

I was looking through auction websites and came across the Kruse auction in Scotsdale the weekend after Barrett-Jackson. I saw a listing for a Daytona Coupe Continuation w/ a CSX2000 series number. What is the story with these? Who made them? How many?

I suspect it is a McCluskey Daytona. In the early days he built them using only original chassis. His cars are outstanding and typically sell in the $200-$250K range.

The coupe at Kruse is CSX2608.

Since it is out of the range of valid "original" numbers, it surely is a McCluskey "tribute" car ( ), being allowed to serialize in a 'continuation' fashion.

How many McClusky cars have been done??? And, does he still produce them?

And what's up with the rumor that there will be a Daytona Coupe released from SAI in the future????

Russ...
..from Mike McCluskey:

"I am currently building #13, #14 and #15 in a limited series of Daytona Coupes with hand-made aluminum bodies. Six are on original roadster chassis, the other frames are newly fabricated to original specifications. "

Cal Metal What's the number of Lynn Parks Daytona Special? Wonder how many Mikee M is going to build? Last I heard the Spector coupe was going to get restored. The salt destroyed the body and the frame from the record runs. There was nose damage on it too. Will George G or Mike Mc get to rebuild the car. Does anyone else have the knowledge to do these cars?? Rick Lake
