Thumbs up Kirkhams throw a party...

Finally got my pics to load up.

Pat Buckley and I escorted Col. Stout (U2) and his lovely bride across the American Siberia to attend the Kirkham Summit and to pick up his own Kirkham after a little refresher work (arruminum suspension bits, etc.) that the Kirkhams managed to perform in the middle of getting ready for the Summit. Cheerleader (da wifey) and I had brought U2's Cobra to Provo the day after Xmas so that the work could be performed by the Summit. You see, U2 came home from South Korea for a quick two week trip after being stationed "over there" protecting our collective butts since last June (he missed Fling III), and he won't be home again until July (thereby missing Fling IV). In fact, he flew back to base this Monday, the day after we drove home.

Anyway, hope the following gives you an idea of the wonderful time the First Family of Cobras provided to all of us.

The Kirkhams' personal Ford GT40. I stuck my fat a$$ in this poor thing. Momentarily cosidered sawing off the steering wheel to get out. Much grunting.

That is the SEMA car on the lift. Very nice in person.

.

Steve Kirkham pointing out the different sides of the demo chassis...one side was the original suspension; the other the latest arruminum stuff.

Tom Sr.'s original Cobra...the one that was copied and is the father (mother) of all of the resulting KMP clones since.

Here's our own Computerworks!

A Kirkham firewall...clean and traditional.

Davey's assolutely nasty motor. Tom Jr. has been "dialing it in" and won't give it back to David.

Pat Buckley(L) talking to David Kee.

Here's a shot from overhead...and the SEMA car.

The original and the prettiest clone...the SEMA car up front.

Pat sticking his head in for a look around.

Always my favorite shot: a stack of Kirkhams. Lew's car (KMP 302) is right in the middle, second row. It is now a signed "J" model...I made sure of that.

David Kee gave a great explanation of the inner workings of the top loader saga, and told us of future things to come...can you say arruminum?

Ron )Computerworks) couldn't get enough pics of the original for reference for his own perfect build.

Mike Lefevre, formerly of Shelby, told us the history of the Shelby arruminum block and heads.

Here's U2 at the moment Pat asked him a question he already knew the answer to...do the pilots ever look at girlie magazines during their 10+ hour flights? U2 assplained that one only does that once, since the "housing" that one wears to relieve one's self into is fitted to one's non-excited "thing" size and that it becomes unbearably painful when one gets excited. Little did U2 know that Mary Kirkham is seated just behind him...I wished I could've caught the look on her face!

We, like everyone else, had a great time. As I've said many times, it's not the damn car...it's the Kirkhams themselves that make owning a KMP one of the best things you can do for yourself.

Thank you Kirkhams.

Jamo, I guess that overhead shot was taken by Bob Evans (without standing on his tippy-toes).

Yup. David still wants to put his own wifey in one, and he can't grab one off the line due to the demand in England.

The hybrid version is going to be oh so sweet.
