Question How about John York (York Sports Cars)?

Hey Hey, calling all John York fans.

I've been down to his shop (near Richmond, VA) a few times and he really seems to know his stuff. Seems like he's worked on a lot of Cobras over the years and sounds like he's offered much advice over the phone to many builders as well (some of them, if figure, may be some of you guys!!).

I'm seriously considering him for most, if not all, of my build.
Any experience out there with him as a builder?
How about the quality and longevity of his motors/tranny's, etc.

(Btw, yes, I know he takes his time (and does it right), and we've already had the discussion (a couple of times) about the duration of the project - I'm willing to wait - I'm ok with that. We've discussed and have agreed to a schedule that's acceptable to both of us, and I see no reason not to proceed with John.

I'd appreciate any feedback.

THANKS!!

Kanobe! Do a search on John York on CC. You should find many comments. Got my 351W and T5 tranny from John. I asked for a reliable 325+ HP and he delivered on time. I went there with the Boss (wife) and saw it run, put it in my pickup and brought it home. I have almost 8000 miles on it. I've changed things off the motor like the water pump, pulleys, fuel line, etc. John also supplied some other parts for my build. He also helped with certain problems as they arose in my A & C build.
I am very pleased with my experiences with John. Good Guy,very helpful, loves these cars.
Good luck.
Jim

John built my 302/t-5 package. He also built my pedals and supplied my steering column. The engine is letter perfect, the trans is better than new. The pedals were a snap-fit, a showpiece in themselves.
The point is: John builds excellent stuff. His price is right and he knows his stuff. It takes awhile (what doesn't when you're waiting for a Cobra?
Bottom line........I reccomend him

Default John York

Guys,

John builds a great motor.Ialso have a A&C cobra that I started in early 97.Joe makes a nice car but I had the same door problems as everone else.I have a machine shop so what I did was to make a pair of eccentrics that fit into the hinge pins, also had to do some shimming.Aside from the door issue its a pretty good kit.The motor that John built for me still runs like a top I also have had this car on the track many times and never had a problem. John is a real good ole boy and is quite knowledgeable about cars and motors.
