Ron;
My thoughts exactly, could not have said it better..... I guess I should have cleaned up my 66 GT-350 clone and hauled it over there.....Seems replica's similar to mine are going in the low 30k range,I'll take that any day.....
This past SAAC at Nashville had a few celebrity types hyping the Elanor car, making a big deal out of it,o-k with me,I kinda like the Elanor car,but do not want one.....But what I heard in the garage area and at the convention that night was grumbling from owners of original 67 GT-500's,they were not real happy that a "clone or repop" was going to get recognized in the registry like their original cars and I can't really blame them....

Ron: I agree with everything you said except for one thing....
Ahhh..... Nope, I promised. I won't say it. I won't say it. I won't say it......
Ah, who'm I kidd'n anyway.
The Continuation series are Cobras that continue the original series. They are not merely replicas.
Ahhhhhhh. Much better.
I like the GT350SR. Very cool. I would love to have one in white with blue stripes. I wish it had its restoration done by SAI rather than another company who just has the rights to sell them as Shelbys. But in the end they are endorsed and "blessed" by SAI/CS and in the end thats all that will count. IMHO.
The price is steep for the GT350SR at $95K. At $60K or there abouts I would have alot of interest.

I love the resto-mod concept. BUT for 15k. It use to ber easy to go buy a basket mustang for $1200 and drop a few grand in the suspension, a few grand in the drive train, a couple grand in paint, put a cage in it and terrorize Chebbies far and near.
This whole thing makes me a little ill. I understand a guy buying a Kirkham with a Shelby brand on it. They are a bargain and far better than an "original" in everyway.

Terry: I didn't know that. I'm not into the Mustang end of it that much other than I like some of them especially the GT350s, GT500s and the Boss 302.
Well, if an original GT350 can be had for those numbers in nice condition then I agree the GT350SR is overpriced at $95K. I have changed my assessment.
I would love to buy one Terry but the boss has other plans, ie, new kitchen floor, new stone walkway, pavers for driveway blah, blah, blah. It never ends.

Terry's right.
Typically, you can find a REALly nice, original 65-66 GT350 in the 50K to 65K price range> It goes up from there depending on its provenance.
Basically, I consider this the "Dingleberry Factor"...how many businesses are willing to pay Ole Shel for the liberty to use his name and image. This also applies to the folks that buy this knockoffs and are basically justify a market for these cars.
Its one thing to buy a Shelby Clone that you can drive and enjoy...its quite another to get ripped off for this kind of $$$.
Stick with whats real or justified, do not contribute to this falsified market.
BTW...has anybody seen the Eleanor clone that continually pops up on eBay for $125K???
Do not give this market creedance...buy with descretion!

STILL WEIGHING THE OPTIONS......2192/ BATCHLOR, OR HOUSE AND WIFE OF 33YR. HECK, I HAD THE COBRA BEFORE HER! LIFE SURE GIVES ONE INTERESTING CHOICES. THIS ONE IS GETTING EASIER EACH DAY TO MAKE.

Hmmm.
Maybe we can share my wife. I have her well trained. Essentially for every dollar I spend on my car she spends a dollar on jewelry. It would be much cheaper if there were a time share method of doing this.

Scobrac, I think you are on to something! Splitting the spouse tax two, three or four ways sure would lower the price of all the toys.
