Red,

I agree with many of the comments above. Do yourself a big favor and get some big time thrills by taking advantage of driving school and or open track events. You will increase your enjoyment of the car immensely and get a real good feel for what you can and can’t do with these cars. There is nothing more thrilling than driving at sustained speed on a track where you’re sure that everyone is going in the same direction…. most of the time anyway!! The fact of the matter is that it is the awesome power of these cars and the fear that it should elicit that makes driving them and walking away such a rush. Enjoy and be safe!

Cheers, Pete C

John,
Turn the experience into an opportunity by taking driving school and tracking your wonderful cobra. You just don't "floor it" under those conditions--the old "egg under the accelerator" works fine.

I agree 100% with Pete C's approach.

And I agree with Cranky--120-140 on the track is less scary than 65 on some interstates. Unless Cranky is behind you....

Carl Wade our chief tech has spent many a day at 160mph in his Unique FIA. I'm not sure if his hair is gray because of track time or whether he is just showing is age. He's built over 200 Cobras so that in itself would attest of an "age factor".

Regards,
Don "the office guy"
