Sorry, should have by-lined that pic from Steve.

Jamie.. the leather tends to "cross-wrinkle", like this unmolested street car...

Great info! I'm thinking of adding door pockets to my FIA & was wonder what would look most authentic.

From SpecialK's site, a picture of how an FIA door should look...

Door pockets weren't part of the equation on this race car.

I do have an older pic of door pockets added to an FIA door if you want to see it.

On a "for what it's worth" basis:

All of the documentation & pictures I have researched, as well as the original cars I have looked at, show that the original 427 comp and S/C cars (i.e. every one of the 30xx cars) came from England with vinyl-covered seats and a grained, black vinyl-like material glued to the doors and rear bulkhead. They were also carpeted on the transmission tunnel and floors in a wool blend that I doubt was Wilton but looks similar. They did not have the aluminum trim piece around the lower door opening to hold the carpeting in place like the street cars. As for the photo of the seat from 3014, the grain does not look original to me, but the seat may either be worn or heavily treated with some kind of vinyl product.

Ron,

Do you happen to have any picturs or descriptions of the comp seat mounts?

Default Pat

I have a mechanical drawing from Bill Kemper. If you give me a fax, I will dig it out and fax it.

Original carpet was Wilton wool in the standard Cobra. Not sure of cut vs loop and was that in the S/C... I think so.

Ned,

Do you have this info for the USRRC cars... more specifically for Lew Florence's CSX2459?

Also, anyone know the actual color of Lew's car... sunlight yellow from '64?

Thanks!
