Not me. I'll never pay the "gotta have it first" premium for any car. Also, in a somewhat related vein, my wife would kill me. Randy, are you going to breakfast tomorrow?

Since the ad clearly states the the winning bidder "wins" the RIGHT to buy the car not the car directly is the bid price then the "premium" for purchasing the car? If correct they can have it but then again in this case the wealthy need only apply. Hey ToyCollector have you seen this? You need one of these. That's all it usually takes fella's!

Yup, you're bidding on the right to buy only. Notice that the VIN number supplied in the listing is noted as not being the actual VIN of the car you have the right to purchase. If I were putting up $35K+ I think I'd like to see what paperwork the seller has, documenting their "place in line," before I hit the "submit bid" button.

These cars are suppose to be $150K. How much do you think they will be after the intial novelity wears off? The new Viper was $132K and you can now get them under $85K

So apparently the winner bidder is hoping that his price (+MSRP) is less that what the dealers will be gouging buyers above and beyond the MSRP?

I dunno, MSRP within 1 1/2 years? Low production, huge appeal.

Even the PT Cruiser was going at 5-10k above sticker when they first came out. I bet the GT will be around 200k gouging price.

This is BS as far as i'm concerned. The seller went and got on the waiting list by putting down a deposit. Now he's selling that spot in line for more than his deposit. What gaurantees do you have that you'll get the car for MSRP?
Pay for the right to buy a car?? No thanks. Unlike some I have more sense than money.

Its a slush box!
That maybe more practical in city driving etc, but for an enthusiasts car I would wait for a second hand manual, after the novelty has worn off!

My Ford Guy (Fleet Sales Manager) took two deposits and Ford Corporate said NO deposit, give them back. I can't believe that anyone has a lock on a car at this point.
