Um, nothing. They take your car into their garage, very gently I might ad (seems they have trouble with side pipes being torn off at the North Sacramento location).
They run a sniff test, as if there is a smog standard for 1966... and give YOU a tag to place on your car. It is suppose to be permanant but I put mine next to the VIN plate until I noticed the guy had it down as a FERRARI... I removed it and put it under the dash.
Now my car had been smogged on a dyno per our enhanced smog requirements and has always passed smog (7 times) prior to this. I firmly believe the state is using this data for a time when gross polluters will be banned. I truely almost didn't go through the SB-100 process. But my car has a period engine and was already registered. I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling all of us who do this will hear about it in the future.
