Default BAR

Deano
I was at the BAR in Huntington Beach yesterday and it was pretty straight forward. They do a sniffer test and fun your rpm's up to around 3500 for about 1 minute and then let it ldle a while. The only thing that I wish that they had done different was......they will attach a sticker about 2x3 inch, I guess, and they put mine right on my aluminum firewall on the drivers side. The guy that put it on looked like he had it aligned but I got the car home and looked at it and it was installed at an angle.....Oh well, at least it's done.

Look in the Yellow Pages for a California Liscensced Brake and Lamp Inspection station. They are usually found with the Smog Inspection stations. Hope this helps.

Joe, thanks for the info!! Maybe I should grab some white board markers and make a few lines on the firewall so that they put the sticker on straight. LOL I can think of worse places they would apply a sticker though.

Um, nothing. They take your car into their garage, very gently I might ad (seems they have trouble with side pipes being torn off at the North Sacramento location).

They run a sniff test, as if there is a smog standard for 1966... and give YOU a tag to place on your car. It is suppose to be permanant but I put mine next to the VIN plate until I noticed the guy had it down as a FERRARI... I removed it and put it under the dash.

Now my car had been smogged on a dyno per our enhanced smog requirements and has always passed smog (7 times) prior to this. I firmly believe the state is using this data for a time when gross polluters will be banned. I truely almost didn't go through the SB-100 process. But my car has a period engine and was already registered. I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling all of us who do this will hear about it in the future.

And if that time comes, we will organize and we will descend onto Capital Hill with a gazzillion horsepower and a show of force, and we will all rev our motors at once, and we will garner the attention of Awww-Nuld, and Awww-Nuld will declare that auto enthusiasts have rights, too, and the clouds will part and the sun shall shine so brightly across our Zaino-laced Cobras that the ones that sponsored such craziness shall be blinded permanently from the intense reflection.

Kputz,

"Do any of you ever consider moving??? Anywhere??? Ever?????"

Haven't you heard? Everyone's going to Las Vegas!

Serously, though, after you've lived through earthquakes, fires, floods and riots, every other place is BORING!
