Thumbs up Daytona pictures

Hello.

Most of you already saw my Cobra Daytona drawings some time ago. Now it’s time for the 3D model…
Have a look and tell me what do you think…

Best Regards from Portugal,
Ernesto Freitas

Ernesto - You have done a fantastic job. Your creation looks very contemporary. I don't want to sound negative, but I would hope that if the Daytona were being made today that it wouldn't be such a combination of all of today's sport's cars. It had a look all of it's own, a style that was built for performance that happenend to be uniquely attractive and timelessly beautiful. It's hard to improve on the original, and in my opinion, impossible.

Default Sure looks like a Daytona to me

Truely outstanding! The C-5 Corvette driveline would be a natural for that body. Show us what it would look like if you were to paint the tail half white, half blue, like on the originals .

Ernesto,

It looks pretty good to me. It's hard to see the detail in the lower black areas. I don't care much for the curved bottom of the door sill. I cannot see much of the sidepipes, only the tips. Makes me wonder how the tips can go through the framerail, like that, if the mufflers are mounted inside the framerail.

I cannot see the downforce tunnels, under the car, either. That seems like a very good idea.

Is there no opening for radiator air? It seems you have a large outlet but no inlet.

I like the space around the tires. Too often, designers draw these things with the tires virtually against the edge of the bodywork which is unworkable in real life.

Overall design is very nice. Makes me want to buy some styrofoam and start whittling out a custom car body.

Paul

I like it. Kinda looks like a 350Z got run over by a viper.
