Brought home my first Cobra!!!
Today I realized a childhood dream! Sold my beloved MR2 (320 rwhp!) and brought home her successor. It's a Unique Motorcars 289 F.I.A model with a 354 stroker built by Southern Automotive. The color is "Jaguar Ice Blue" or something, the previous owner couldn't quite remember. Unique color, I think (no pun intended ). Haven't been able to really drive her yet, we've had a solid week of rain.

Great looking 289--beautiful color. Seems there are more and more people getting the 289.
Have Fun! and be careful
Rain--guess it's better than snow--but it still pisses me me off that we can have a beautiful week here Mon-Fri then it rains all weekend. Just love this "Seattle sunshine"

Congrats on the car - a very fine looking ride. I do like that colour ... what were the codes again
How did the Trooper tow the trailer? What's the allowable tow weight on the Trooper? My tow vehicle will probably be the Rodeo at 4500# allowable.
Enjoy the drive - it'll be wayyyyyyyy better than the MR2

Having taken delivery of my first Cobra a few weeks ago, (and not driven it yet), I can identify with your emotions right now . Enjoy. I investigated the Unique 289 - it is a great car.

Thanks all! More details will follow when I can pull myself away from the car for longer.
That's what I thought too, rldunn, but check this out: Southern Automotive 354 stroker.
It sounds incredible, can't wait to get a good drive in!

Very nice car, great color, and I love the stripeless look as well. I am another of the many very happy Unique owners, and I think you'll find the support from the Weavers outstanding, even though you purchased a previously-owned car. I did the same, and the level of support I've received from Unique has been phenomenal.

Well, it's no Powerstroke, but Trooper did very well. But then I've towed the MR2 with it before and the MR2 weighs a good 500lbs more. The allowable tow weight on the Trooper is 5500lbs. It's a standard tranny, 4wd version. It has adjustable Rancho 9000 shocks and firming up the rear really helps.

Great looking car and the best of luck and many happy years.
I always had a special place in my heart for a 289FIA.

I just noticed something- how come it has the 427 rollbar and not the standard 289 rollbar?

Dunno, you'd have to ask the previous owner. Kinda glad he did it that way, to tell you the truth.

Please bear in mind that the Cobra is very tricky to drive compared with your last ride. Don't get too rambunctious before you've put a lot of get-acquainted miles on the car.
