Opressed workers of America.....SPEAK UP!! I had no idea Michael Moore was interested in Cobras or GT's. Talk about you "unsafe at any speed".

If Value and Performance were absolute requirements, (and we all know Ford GTs will not be easily obtained or affordable for most non Ford Dealer types in the first 18-24 months) seems like another fun choice would be to have both of these to cover all the bases for the same or less money. And available now:

1. a Nice 289 or 427 replica Cobra of your choice
2. Noble M12 GTO

The Noble sure seems like a wonderful driving car for the money.
Otherwise, if money was not an issue at all, and I had to pick only one, I'd bid up and take the new Ford GT over any of these, hands down. No comparison in my book.

Also, the VP of marketing at Ford said recently there may be up to 3,500 (not 2,500) Ford GTs made in the first 24 months; but for top producing dealers only. So when one of you rich tough guys here on CC gets one of the new Ford GTs, you can give the rest of us a ride in your new car!

Why all this fuss about such vulgar, crass, over-hyped vehicles?

There is only ONE option for any person with even a smidgen of breeding about them, and it is called the "DB9".

Do any of you guys make the distinction in your mind about a car you'd love to have to drive versus one you'd have to collect? The collector never getting thrashed. A replica Cobra is a thrasher in my mind. A Cobra built by Mr. Shelby's original crew, that's another thing. At this point the cars are almost sacred. I've been trying to decide if my feelings of reluctance to thrash a car of limited production is a function of my limited funds or respect for the fact that I would not want to risk degrading it or worse yet, taking it out completely. The Ford GT is the kind of car you'd like generations that follow to be able to enjoy, like those original Cobras. A replica, for me, takes all of the responsibilities to those who come after me, away. They can burry me with the shards of my replica without guilt! So, you can put me down for the Ford GT, but I'm the guy who would not use it for it's intended purpose.

FORD GT.
But then, if I go down to the Ford dealership and look at the one
in the showroom display, I will realize I can't afford the supercar.
So, I will probably do what Ford is hoping for. Leave with a $30,000 Mustang.
