You mean a 2 4-bbl setup? A quad is a 4-bbl single carb.

Default 514 dual quads

X...Dual quads definately draw attention. I recently installed a 2X4 setup on my crate 460. I used a Blue Thunder manifold and two 600 Holleys with 427 linkage I purchased from carlsfordparts.com. Although you have more cubes the parts are still the same. I also gained another inch of clearence to the hood scoop with the slightly lower BT manifold. The Blue Thunder is cast with 429 size ports so to correctly fit to your 514 with im asuming you have the Aluminum Cobra Jet heads they should be opened up to port match the cylinder head. I learned this info before I took on this project from SFfiredog...thanks Mike

Hi,
I run the blue thunder dual plane ,dual quad intake, got it in L.A. @ ford power products. Works good, I run edelbrock performer 600 cfm carbs, but for your larger engine I would run 750 carbs, as with the dual plane any one cylinder only sees the left or right side of the carbs at any one time, so even at WOT I only have 600 cfm feeding any one cylinder.
Perry.

X....The manifold will bolt up, it's made for a 429, 460 or 514. The carbs are a good question. There are plenty of threads about dual quads and what carbs to use, some use the Edlebrock but most seem to use the Holley's, just do a search for dual quads .
I chose the 600 Holleys because I like working with them and I like the look. The Blue Thunder manifold has the correct 427 spacing between the carbs and the aftermarket dual quad 427 linkage is made to work with the Holley's.
I guess performance is the next thing, what size carb and do you use vacuum or mechanical secondaries. That should be determined by engine size, horsepower and the type of driving you do.
