Ford will build approximately 4,400 Ford GTs over the next 3 years. The first allocations have been given out to the President Award Dealers (Customer Satisfaction and Vehicle Sales) and then Top 100 club dealers and Market Share. I know a few dealers that were allocated 4 Ford GTs. Orders have been placed and vehicles will be built starting May 1, 2004............

Stay tuned!l

Turk,
There were multiple dealers asking over 275K back then for those 92s believe it or not. I was a CA licensed used dealer and dismantler in 1992 and happened to be at a dealer auction one day. A friend offered 175K for an early one back then and had to leave empty handed. I was standing there right next to him when he offered it, right here in Roseville CA. It was one of the first ones to the West coast. It was a big deal. They sold it the next week for $275k. 60K over was a joke back then; not true during the first month at that dealer! The info on what Letterman paid to be the first was said on TV but unconfirmed. Also heard 3rd party that Jay paid a premium too, like 275K, but I bet nobody would admit it now... Stupid Crazy. I recall it vividly and was stunned thinking it was kinda junk for the money, even at list. 18-24 months later, $65/75k was possible for a 93/94. I guess half a Mil is peanuts to some of these lucky guys who want something first. Car Crazy comedians! Duane

The first year run is ramp up, production kinks and system ironing that goes on all the time. Once the car can be produced in volume, there will be more.

It's like the first year SSRs, junk and leaky, but the very first one sold for something like $135,000.00. Nuts!

I agree to wait and let the dust settle.

A viper for $37k doesn't sound that bad.

Just my $0.02
