Dave? I think I met you at S&K Speed. With this weather I think the only place to go for now is Speedchannel! When the weather breaks(?) I suppose the Snakepit in Freeport would be a good Saturday target. I think Sundays are Captree/OBI. Nathans in Oceanside always has a crowd, mostly $$$ racers though. I'm sure you know about Bald Hill. You feel like a road rally fron NYC to Atlantic City this spring? I've got one other Cobra going with me so far, possibly two. Post some pics of your snake!

Dave....For the past 4 weekends, the Sunday morning gathering has been at Captree with a healthy turnout of 200+ on the warmer Sundays. Several guy's I know from the Snakepit in Freeport have made the Sunday morning cruise to Captree.
On Saturday mornings I try to go the Snakepit for an hour or so, but no one has been taking there cars due to the weather.

Bob, no. I took the car out, washed it & went about 4 gears & realized I had a driveline vibration. Back in the garage, it seems last year I lowered the rear coilovers pretty drastically for some dragracing & although it got the car to hook harder it caused the front yoke to contact the the front u-joint caps when the rear squatted during launch. Luckily I didn't pop it at the track! I'm almost finished with the modifications & will be up & running this weekend(to where in the snow-I don't know). Another missed opportunity!...
Sometimes you can find me at HRE too. I liked it when they were both under one roof. Too bad they didn't

Hi Dave,
On Sunday mornings you will find a bunch of guys at the old OBI parking lot or before the summer really sets go to Captree parking lot just at the foot of the bridge. Get there by 9am in summer for space.
On Saturday nights you will find hot rods and some Cobras at Kohl's..2 miles south of LIE exit 52. There are 100-150 cars there on busy spring/summer nights.
On Thursday nights there are 30-40 cars at King Kullen at Wading River Rd/Rte 25A, Wading River...usually 2-5 Cobras there.
On Tuesday nights Bald Hill is like going to the World's Fair of car shows. We make group trips to BH only about 2-3 times per summer because that place can make you tired !
There is another 30-40 car hot rod Tuesday night gathering organized by BCompy and Chris at Outlaw Racing in the Town of Oyster Bay...that should fire up around May.
There are many guys on LI that just get together and scoot around on Sundays. Watching the Special Interest calender in their newspaper or www.specialinterest.com lays out big car show schedules where the boys sometimes get together.
We will be planning a LI Cobra Run to the race track at Long Island Dragway around 2nd week of May or perhaps a bit sooner.
The town of West Sayville has two summer car shows which we have grouped up for a cruise. Sayvile Ford had a late summer event which we turned out with 6-7 Cobras. I will be planning an FFR gathering early summer. I also have 4-5 LI Cobra Runs to town locations, in flier format, just waiting for the green sprouts to appear ! If you want to hook when the weather breaks for us down the road shoot me an e-mail at jam1775@optonline.net. I can keep you in the loop.

Long Island
Greetings to all the LI guys!
I'm in Orange County, NY and I am a member of the Upstate Cobra Club.
Any of you guys interested in joining us for our Summer Run in Lake George in July? It's a really great weekend and we expect about 50 Cobras to come.
If you're interested, either do a search in here for upstate cobras or Summer Run, or visit our club website.
upstate cobras
Hope to see some of you LI guys there.
