Ferrari in rear view mirror
I recall being told that Shelby put a little Ferrari sticker in the rear view mirror and when asked why he said something to the effect of that is the only place you should see one. Can some one confirm or denouce this and fill in the missing story?
Along that lines...... does any one have a source to get the little prancing horse emblem sticker in a size suitable for doing just this, putting it on the rear view mirror?
Thanks
Rick

Rick, you have to kill at least one Ferrari before you can do this. I trashed one on my way back to work from lunch a couple of weeks ago. He challanged me in the 0-120 MPH range, straight shot. I guess it wasn't really fair. Still felt pretty good. I even had a 200 pounder in the passenger seat.

I will go hunting this Saturday, I know where I can find a challenge! So once I blow their doors off, where do I claim the prize?

That one was actually a "badge", as opposed to a decal, and I think Enzo had it glued to the mirror of his Cobra. If you go to a Ferrari dealership, most have either a gift shop or you can go to the parts counter and buy a tie tack or perhaps cufflinks in that size and design. Cut the back off and glue it on to your mirror.
Here is a link to a page that has a 2.75" Ferrari shield for $4.95. Click on the link and then click on "Scuderia Shields" listed on the left side of the page. The 2.75" shield is item #6, I believe. Still pretty large but it's the smallest one I've found so far--

Man, the wonder of the internet. Here is a link to a UK site that has Ferrari tie tacks for 6 English pounds--about $10. They take credit cards--

I'm going to stop looking now and do some actual work.

You might try a local hobby shop. They might have decals for RC cars that would be the right size. Heck, even a decal for a plastic model might work.

Guys...all you have to do is find a picture online of what you want...print it out on some good paper...trim it...and use some low tack glue stick to put it on. I did and it works great. I thought even that San Antonio boy could figure that one out.

I have been to the hobby shops and you can get one if you buy the entire model. The online sites it is impossible to tell how big it is. I have tried the printed method, doesn't last. Now the tie tack idea! That has merit!
Lets see what I can find since I am not doing anything important at the moment...... like work!

A search for pins turned up a bunch of options. Including mirror badge (to large, 1.5" tall). I will let you know what I turn up!
Thanks

Thanks for the link Tony. I wasted no time and orderd the one I pictured above. The size sounds perfect.
So now I have 21 days to hunt down and kill a ferrari!
Now, can anyone verify the story and give some more information?
Thanks
Rick

OK Rick, there are a couple of Ferrari guys looking for Cobra cuff links on the Internet. Make sure you do a serious preflight before going on the prowl.
