What kind of fuel pump is needed for the weber carb setup thanks Bob

Can a stock EFI fuel pump (mounted inside the stock fuel tank) create TO MUCH pressure and damage the needle/seat on the floats in the carb?

the weber carbs require a very low fuel presure, not more than 3 1/2 lbs. do not use a efi pump!

Per Cal and Enzo you don't want to run more than 3 lbs..I am running a carter mechanical pump at have a regulator set at 2 lbs.

How does the pressure regulator work on an electic pump?

With EFI there is a return line so excess fuel (in this case pressure) is returned to the tank.

A Carter 4070 pump is a great pump for Webers. Regulate it at 3 to 3 1/2 lbs.

I RUN 2.5 LBS WITH A REGULATOR, AND FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE IN THE DASH FOR EXTRA MEASURE. RUN THE CARTER ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP, WIRED TO AN ON /OFF SWITCH NEXT TO THE DRIVERS SEAT, NOT, REPEAT, NOT WIRED TO THE IGNATION SWITCH.

The floats only weigh 25.5 grams so it doesn't take much pressure to overcome their ability to close the needle and shut down the fuel stream. EFI pumps run a minimum of 35 psi, and some up to as much as 100 psi (Mercedes). A fuel return line, however, is always a good idea, even with a standard electric or mechanical pump.

I especially like Terry K's idea of the on/off switch that is independent of the ignition. I had that set up in an old Corvette years ago. Makes for a nice security device, as well.
