Your brakes.
For those of you that are looking at buying or already have one and plan to do any spirited driving please don't make the mistake I did years ago when I knew very little. I bought mine with the stock Mustang II front brakes. I got the tubular control arms and could have upgraded the brakes when I ordered. I thought, "it is a light car these should be fine".
Well, when I joined this club I was looking for new brakes because I cooked the fronts driving ON THE STREET. A road course you get a little time to cool the rotors and pads between hard stops. Coming down the mountain from Julian you don't. It will cost you less to do this now if you haven't taken delivery. You can't have too much brake. Mine were literally leaving streaks of pad material on the rotors. Fortunately the rears still worked, but it was not a pleasant ride. This is just my opinion from experience of not knowing enough, but there are some who will back me up I am sure. |
