Default What do you spend on Fuel?

In light of the efforts of certain oil producing countries, fuel prices have risen to rather high levels.

So, what do you spend a week on gas and what are you driving.

I parked my truck in favor of the PT and went from $80.00 per week to $40.00 per week.

Just wondering if anyone else is fighting the gouge.

I do not buy Exxon or Mobil gas.

trularin

Fuel is about $1.06 per litre here at the moment for Premium 95 octane.

Whilst we have the higher octane the price is moving towards $4.50 per US gallon. Quite high when I recal paying $1.25 per gallon in H.B in Cal. at Chevron.

Having said all that, I just travelled 600 miles round trip on Wednesday and Thursday in the Cobra.

With a 351 stroker to 377 Victor Jnr, 750, Ice Ignition, Dart heads etc etc it gets great economy - like yeah.

The two main refineries in Melbourne and Geelong have no real supply problem as a majority of the crude oil comes from south of Australia from the Bass Starit ocean rigs

We have been told to expect price hikes.

Cheers

The price of regular "pump gas" continues to rise, but CAM-2 remains $3.99/gallon.

So I guess that stuff isn't really elastic.

Pump gas around here is pretty much $1.80 for reg, $2.00 for premium right now.

Here seems to be a bit lower than other parts of the country.

I drive a F-250 w/ 6.0 Diesel fuel cost here range from $1.40/gal to $1.53/gal dependeing on where you go.

Wife drives a Lincoln LSE and buys the 93 octane for about $1.74

87 octane $1.49
89 octane $1.55
91 octane $1.65

I had to look out my window at the Texaco accross from the golf course to get the above prices.

Currently it is at $1.88 per gallon, regular that is.

Still stinks that I was paying $1.68 LAST WEEK.

Texaco pricves as of this morning here.

87 octane = $2.29
89 octane = $2.39
91 octane + $2.49.

That is down from last week when I filled up with the so called 91 octane at $2.69 a gallon.

So long as the local Sunoco racing gas distributor keeps the 110 octane stuff below $5.00/gallon, I'm a happy camper. But I'm paying roughly $2.40/gal for the best pump gas in the area (91 octane). Our Aussie, English and European friends on the forum pay much more, so I don't find myself whining too much these days.

There's more to life than gas mileage, I'll pay what it takes to drive whatever I got.....

currently takes $35.00 week in the Ranger, $18.00 for the Tercel, $18.00 every couple weeks for the John Deere and $45.00 every few weeks for the 36 Ford rod.

Gas is about $1.79 +/-.....

I just talked to the supplier that I get my racing gas from. They don't have Union 76 any more as they quit making it but they have the Sitco 110 octane leaded racing gas at $4.25 per gallon. I am going to have to have a barell delivered soon as my last one from last year is soon going to be empty.

Ken,

You need to get 28 miles per gallon on your Cobra like I do. That way you can take it to the lake and drive it more.

Cheapest found for my Cobra...$2.14 - $2.25 per gallon for 91 octane here in the Bay Area. Gas mileage runs from 8-16 mpg depending on where and how I drive.

On Saturday's Rally I filled the tank three times at about $2.35 for 91 octane. It was $70, total. With the Jag in the shop (transmission broke), I've been driving the Cobra to work every day. I filled it up twice at $35.00 for each.

Whew! That's high! Yesterday at Shell, gas was a buck sixty-nine for 87 octane and a buck eighty-nine for 93 octane.

Normally I get gas at the same place all the time (and with my F-250 it seems like ALL THE TIME) when I'm in town and don't even look at the prices, but yesterday I just happened to notice. Not that money's no object; it's just that I decided long ago I would buy the vehicles I liked and pay the price of the vehicle and the price of the gas. Period. All my favorite toys live on gunpowder or dinosaur juice.

Even at $5/gallon, driving the Cobra would be a cheap thrill. 'Course then I'd be even happier I have a SMALL BLOCK!!!

Our prices are similar to Ron61 and diesel is near $2.00 a gallon. I haven't changed driving habits much though.
