These cars are only in original condition ONCE! "Barn-fresh" cars like this one are most likely worth more, to the right buyer. JMHO.

Holy snake bite batman!! That boy's sittin' on a gold mine and doesn't seem to know it. It almost sounds like a dream. "I found this Cobra-427 sittin' in some guys garage and it hasn't been driven for 20+ years" I hope he gets a mint for it.
Great pics!

Ernie,
I agree.....anyone who thinks about doing anything to CSX 3240 other than Simple Green, Soap, Polish, and maybe a little touch-up paint, ought to be publicly crucified on this forum

I wouldnt touch up any of the paint, after all he has earned every one of those stone chips.
He should maybe freshen the motor, ie new seals and gaskets, same with box and diff.
He should also replace all rubber parts in brake system, but only do any of this if the car is going to be driven, if its going into a museum/private collection dont touch it apart from cleaning.

zipzip,
Thanks for the stories. Next time you see Mr. Yoshida, post up and fill us in. So many people here have a high affinity for Cobra history, we appreciate you sharing this.

...used to.
Honestly, this is a nice unmolested street car, with low mileage....but most are low mileage cars. Not all of these cars are destined for museums.
Like any of these, the price will simply be what it is worth to someone who wants a one-owner car.

So, is this car for sale? I might have a buyer interested in it's "AS - IS" condition..........

There's an original, blue, smallblock in the area as well. The Hinsdale Ferrari dealer has most of his inventory outside, along the street, which might be the lure calling for a change after 35 years of ownership. Those Ferrari's are RED, that Cobra's a little faded. Hope he gets an excellent price, looks like an excellent car.

I'll try to keep everyone posted and see if I can't get back up to see the owner. I'm busy for the next couple of weekends, but with all the positive response, I'm excited to share the sentiment with Mr. Yoshida.
I'll see how "serious" he is about selling the car. I also need to get some more info for the registry, and about 1000 more photos...

It is neatest just the way it is. Old, dirty, and owned by the original owner. Neat, neat, neat.
If it was mine, and I read this thread, I would be having a good chuckle.
Mr. Yoshida is smart enough to have bought it, smart enough to have kept it, and I'm sure he is smart enough not to sell it now.
I hope people do not start bugging him.
There is a Cobra in the woods in Ga. that is wrecked that is a good candidate for restoration, but this baby is doing just fine dirt and all. Cleaning it would be a travesty of autoporn !
